That explains a few things

It’s interesting to note in the wake of Randy Moss’s situation that his behavior had markedly changed in the week leading up to last week’s game against Jacksonville. A fairly genial presence in the locker room all season, Moss had instead had an edge. At one point, a photographer got a little too close trying to take his picture and Moss grabbed his camera while yelling angrily to stay out of his face. When the same photographer tried to snap a photo from a more respectful distance a day or two later, Moss let him have it again.

Now we know why Moss was feeling the strain. Yesterday when he spoke to the Herald’s Karen Guregian, he noted how relieved he was to get the situation out in the open and off of his chest. The result has been a far looser Moss the last two days. Today at practice he was in a particularly jovial mood, laughing and joking with teammates and looking like the Moss we’ve seen for virtually the entire season.

That can only mean good things for the Patriots and their offense. Limited to just one catch last week, Moss should have a clearer mind when he takes the field on Sunday.

Tomase has good points and scoops CONSTANTLY. I don't mean to be a sycophant, but if you people continue to post nonsense like that, I feel compelled to set the record straight.

Had he previously reported last week tthat Moss seemed unusually on edge, THEN I'd take his ex post facto just so story seriously.

And for every good point..there are FIVE poor ones...Yes on occasion he DOES have some good words..BUT other times he's a blowhard in the Felger territory...His behavior during spygate showed what a putz he can be...

That's exactly what I figured would happen. I know for myself when I have something going on, I feel completely liberated when I open up about it and have nothing to hide anymore. Even without the situation being resolved yet, I bet Moss feel fantastic right now.

That's good news for the Pats, and bad news for Quentin Jammer. Expect to smell lots of burnt toast this Sunday.

I don't read Tomase as much these days, especially after reading through his comment sections...

Let's just say I didn't like the way he responded to a few Pats fans, and sometimes he comes off as a self important ass.

This is stupid because if he had written that Moss seemed unusually on edge last week without having any idea why, you would have just ripped him for trying to stir up trouble about Moss and distract the team the week before a big game. Plus it would have just been shoddy reporting and Tomase isn't a shoddy reporter...one of the few.

I'm willing to bet that Moss kept this from his teammates until it was absolutely necessary because he was concerned less about the outcome of the legal situation so much as letting his team down. He was probably worried that he had worked so hard to earn his team's respect, finally gotten into the organization he had always hoped to, but these accusations made against him in the press would catch like wildfire and damage that reputation in the locker room.

I think Belichick telling him to just focus on football helped last week, but now that his teammates and coach have publicly given him 100% of their support -- "he's like family to us now" as Bruschi said -- it's probably a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders.

Nobody would want to be known as the one in the locker room who disrupted the Patriots on their way to the greatest NFL season ever. The team and coaching staff has made it clear that he's one of their own and they would never throw him under the bus as long as he keeps his head in the game.

I expect a much more relaxed Moss, but one refocused on proving himself on the field. That's a dangerous Moss to have on the field, for the opposing team.

While I don't doubt he was on edge, I wouldn't attribute his one catch game to not being focused.

exactly.

the jags put all their coverage on stopping him which is why brady completed all but two of his passes and his team scored practically everytime they had the ball. everyone else was wide open.

the pats will be fine regardless of any of this.


a restraining order is no big deal to pro athletes. alot of them have a lot worse going on. it will get dealt with and pass form thought.

Yeah what he said! Just kidding, the edge is definately there. Remember his comment after the Giants Game! About he was glad to Shut the Press Up! I think he was feeling it then too. Very insightful Tomase. Kudos.
