Suggestion to you and DoubleG. Use the "ignore" feature and you won't have to endure each other and we won't have to endure the back and forth from you guys.

I've had a few convo's with CarolinaColtFan on Colts.com and I have to say its a fairly reasonable place as far as tolerance goes. The mods do a good job, and the locals are mostly reasonable. Its nothing like indystar, and if there were as many colts "trolls" here, as what I see by some fly bys on the colts.com mb from pat fans, this place would melt down.

Personally, I like seeing the other side of things and it keeps a lot of what is said here in check.

Sure, there will be some trolls, but just because they root for another team does not necessarily make them trolls. You can learn a lot from people with different opinions.

They [the good posters of other teams] are not the enemy.

Sorry if I singled out the wrong people, but go on any Colts board and it's essentially an anti-Pats forum, then when any Pats fan chimes in, they're harassed or harassed until they're banned.

My hatred for Manning, Dungy, Polian and everything Colts goes beyond any hatred I've ever felt for the Yankees or any other sports team. I respect Torre (he's not there anymore obviously), Jeter, A-Rod and the Yankees as opponents. I have no respect for a quarterback that teabags innocent nurses and gets away with it and throws his offensive line under the bus when he loses a playoff game; a holier-than-thou coach that says "God prepared him for the Super Bowl by making his team have to come back against the Patriots"; and an owner that changes any rule to favor his own team and has the refs in his pocket.

Watching that team win last year was more painful than getting a finger wave.

I'm a Colts fan who respects the Patriots, and even roots for the Pats when they aren't playing the Colts. I used to post a bit on Indystar back a few years ago, and it was a nasty free for all of Patriot Trolls, and they were hardly ever banned. The comments you make above about the Colts are very, very tame compared to the comments that were on that forum. Many Colts fans just finally left for other forums. What was left at Indystar were mostly those who just liked to fight, and very few who really wanted to talk football. Hopefully It's better now, but it was a shame.

Anyway, for some civil debate on a Colts forum, I would go with what the other posters say and look at Colts.com . Just come with your hat in your hand and act a bit civil, like most (not all) Colts fans do here, and they'll talk football with you, just like Patriots fans do here.

So we're supposed to make this forum better by making it more like IndyStar?

There has certainly been a nasty troll invasion this year, simply because the Pats became the number 1 circled date on every team's calendar. (How many times did we hear "this is the XXX's Superbowl"?) Those true trolls swarmed, beat their chests, hurled insults...then vanished.

Meanwhile a guy like Workhorse has been here for years, offering some perspective on the Patriots' #1 rival through good times and bad. (While the OP just joined up this season, FWIW.) It seems to me that a good way to improve the signal-to-troll noise at patsfans.com is to engage posters like Workhorse in actual football talk rather than yelling at them to go home.

Thanks to all that repect me even though I'm a Colts fan.

I do have one issue with ManningOverraterHick. I wrestled a bit with this one. I wasn't sure to do with a private message I received from him. I have decided to be open about it, so it I am posting it below. I apologize in advance to those that think I should keep it to myself.

So Manning, I came to the conclusion that if you are going to call me out and throw punches at me that you need to do it in public. That way people know the "whole story" if they see a way that I react to you.

Hey,

I'm not going to suck up to you like other Pats fans here. A Pats fan goes on a Colts message board and says anything pro-Pats and they're banned for life.

What makes you think Colt trolls like yourself belong in a Patriots forum? I bet you anything you won't be here after Jan 20 when Manning meets his two favorite enemies: The Patriots and the Snow and goes back to being the choker he is.

Btw, Manning's uglier than your mother.

I am generally pretty civil. So I will limit my response to you to four words and then I'm done.

You are an idiot.

Now I'll step back into my normal behavior.

I like our Colts "trolls".

IMO, I think the Colts fans are usually the least trollish of the opposing team's fans that we get. Maybe because they're here so often since the Pats have played the Colts so much, but they usually don't bother me, and a couple of them are good posters.

Most of the other team's fans I can do without. And the Charger fan trolls are the worst.

What are you talking about, I'm a classy guy! :D

I don't participate in most of these things, and the only Colts poster I recognize is workhorse, but he's always been a good dude. You have less than 50 posts, and you're telling people who have been ehre since 2005 and accumulated over 1,000 posts that they're trolls?

Oh, and your name is stupid.

Edit- And to echo others, Chargers fans are the worst. By far.

God, it's only football.

Here's an official thread for Speed, Workhorse, CarolinaColtFan, and all the other Colt fans to talk. I'm getting sick of the hypocrisy. You go on a Colts chat room, like Indystar, and you get banned for life for saying anything pro-Pats or anti-Colts. On here, trolls are allowed to say whatever they want. Last time I checked, it's a Patriots forum, not a place for fans who won't be here the week after we beat their team.

it's called FREEDOM of SPEECH. I'm glad that this forum allows us to express our opinions freely.

I jumped on you too a while back and caught a slap or two from some folks here. My bad. I was new here and didn't realize you were a good guy. When I'm wrong I admit it. My apologies to you. I think having other teams fans is a good idea also. As long as its all in fun. Take care

to those people who left AFTER their team was beaten, Thank you for coming and see you next season.

No worries. I like coming here for the different perspective and friendly banter.

Granted insurance isn't cheap but if you stay in network there is probably help available for your issues. What's the point of creating a hater user name for another team and ripping into them on a board where you're essentially preaching to the choir? That doesn't take guts. It does say "I got nuthin."

Can we delete this thread or move it to visiting locker room? The guy joined in October, has 29 posts, and just about everyone disagrees with his assessment. If I was new to the board and read the first page, I'd think we were a bunch of kneejerking tools which I know the posters aren't (especially the thoughtful fans of opposing teams).

EDIT: Post #666 har har har

Unless they are Jets fans...... :D

Gotta chime in here. I hate trolls, but you picked the wrong ones to pick on. I reserve judgement on Carolina..but Speed and Workhorse are very respectful and nice. Now HeBangedMe (tm someone funnier than me) and AsshatinIraq are a different story. Differing opinions are fine, there's PLENTY among the Pats fine themselves. I like to hear outside opinions to. There's been some good Steeler trolls, and a couple of not bad Charger trolls also. Not all trolls are bad.

Indystar is out of hand but there are some Pats fans that have been there a long time. They get more abused than anyone I've ever seen, but Dungy bless them, they keep coming back.

This place seems like a decent place to post, I have no problems with most posters, I do get attacked sometimes, but maybe sometimes I was asking for it, I just try to remember where I am, its like being a guest in somebody's house, you have to treat the posters here with respect and 90% of the time you will get it in return.

Congrats, you devil... and I wholeheartedly agree with you about the poster and the thread. The main forum is clogged with topics about other teams when they should be in the visiting locker room, as the blurbs about each forum suggest. I would imagine the mods have more important stuff to worry about rather than sifting through threads an determining their individual place on the forum....

If threads about other teams are started in the visiting locker room, perhaps there would be less posters from other teams in the main forum... making those who do not want them here at all slightly happier.

Unless they are Jets fans...... :D

I know an intelligent Jets fan sounds like an oxymoron, but one of my best friends seems to be the exception.

You're right, you're okay too. I think I hold back on you because I see your post on the Star and some are a bit nasty. But, it's your house, you can say what you want!

Well, let me just say that if I came across harsh, I apologize. I didnt get the warmest of welcomes and got on the defensive rather quickly, and maybe deservedly so, for that I am sorry. I hate when people come to our board and trash it, and that is really the last thing I wanted to do here. So truce on my end.

I totally understand what your talking about, the year we started 13-0 we had a major troll invasion from alot of teams, it must mean only one thing, they must be scared when they do that. Its not been as bad this year because all the attention was diverted to the Pats and there record breaking season and the undefeated season, I guess everybody decided to troll on the Pats boards. I don't troll, I like to see what other teams fans have to say about upcoming games, it really does get boring staying on your own board all the time. Heck we can't even get on Indystar half the time anymore, at the time of me typing this message the site is down again for the 2nd night in a row.
