Come on Sey...did you not read it??? He writes a short bit that starts out trying to make Belichick look pompous and then admits later it's not required and Parcells is never there. Seems to me the coaches are there just to face a firing squad of stupid, un-informed questions that make great headlines.

It may be a non-event, but still, 30 out of 32 coaches show up for it. BB leaves, the weasels are mad, Tomase reports it...big freakin' deal. The only thing I see wrong with his post, is like you and Chris in the comments section point out, Tomase seems to contradict himself with the part about Parcells.

I think it's a non-story, but if he is going to post it I would have liked to have known more, as I asked in the comments section:

I would really like to know what this “complaint†was. Who is it filed to? Who reviews it? Are there possible repurcussions? Was there actually some type of rule broken or was it just an etiquette thing? Has Belichick ever skipped the meeting before? Does anyone know if Belichick had a previous engagement?

Tomase updated his blog: :D

CLARIFICATION: Only the AFC coaches met the media today; hence, Belichick being the only absence, even though he’ll presumably be joined by Parcells tomorrow when the NFC coaches hold their breakfast.

I few of the comments were erased too. ;)

I wish I could have read the blog but when I clicked on and saw Cartman with glasses staring at me, I had to close it in a hurry.

We believe that. We really , really do.

He writes the way he does because, just by looking at him, he was the kid that got picked on in school. This is the way he is exacting his revenge.

Bumped for a few new comments on the blog...:)

I feel some sympathy for the man. It can't be easy to keep up with Mike Reiss. Reiss is always out there digging for info. Tomase has to report on something.

The nature of a blog is that you keep it current (are you listening Tom Curran?) with tidbits of information as opposed to well researched stories. What Tomase shares was a tidbit of news (albeit a stupid one.)

I noticed the title of your blog..One Empty Table..I seen your picture and almost decided not to read it…I just figured it would be about how you destroyed a buffet

I read your little bio and saw you liked Grogan and his neck roll..and I noticed you seem to have quite a few neck rolls…are you a collector?

These two cracked me up.

I see that Box made a cameo, although he should have at least mentioned the chior's wrath if the vilification of BB continues..... :D

You guys are rough . I think he's doing a good job considering the fact he's just getting started. He hasn't "ripped off" anything from us, and as a matter of fact he's even given Miguel a plug from one of the blog entries he posted. So I'm not sure where that accusation came from. But I do agree that very soon I'm guessing the comments section will be killed.

Let's face it, Mike Reiss more or less set the standard for this medium, and we're all going to be critical when reading the works of others. I think Tomase's doing a decent job, and in time will likely give a little more insight as he gets more comfortable.

Agree. First, I feel like a first-class-ass for even starting the thread, second I don't want to scare him into providing less info... hell, I want more.

Bingo. Curran's blog is a joke. What I want out of blogs, (and the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned) is every shred of news that's remotely Patriots oriented. I hope the beating he's taken on the comment section doesn't steer him towards more strict self-editing as far as which tidbits he covers. I want ALL the tidbits. Even the "stupid ones".

Come on, we're Patriots fans... we're forced to live with a team that's constantly under the Cone of Silence. Although most of us understand the idea behind the constant media black-out, it does get frustrating from a fan standpoint. And here comes another source of info about our team, and the dude gets pulverized.. we should be encouraging MORE blogging, not less. I can understand tearing into the story... writers filing a complaint because BB leaves is ridiculous, but so is bashing this guy for a) reporting it and b) being overweight. (Although, he DOES look like Popper from Blues Traveler).

As long as his blog just REPORTS and doesn't editorialize, ala Wrong Borges, he should get a 'thank you' from most of us. The personal attacks are really pretty juvenile and counter-productive to getting more information about the comings and goings of our beloved boys in blue.

Wow, some of that **** is brutal. Callin guys stupid or whatever is one thing, but rippin on the guy's appearence and weight is pretty rough imo.

Imagine if Borges had a blog with comments section? The Globe Server would crash...

Somebody has a unhealthy obsession with this Tomase guy...

just erase any posts that offend you and then replace them with your own made up comments you talented writer.

Ian- What do you mean by just getting started? The guy has been a hack for awhile. Just, previously, he hacked the Red Sox instead of the Patriots. Its not like he's some fresh, wet behind the ears, college grad.
Tomase was writing for the Lawrence Eagle Tribune for a few years before moving up to the Herald.

For those of you who don't know. The Lawrence Eagle Tribune was the Paper the broke the story on Alan Eagleson (Bobby Orr's former agent) and the NHLPA. Russ Conway, a beat writer for the Tribune, did some amazing work that lead, directly, to Eagleson being sent to jail in Canada and him being a fugative here in the United States.

Boy - this is a sad commentary on the children at Patsfans.com.

Hey kiddos, this is a poor reflection on you, not John. Hope mommy doesn’t catch you using her computer. PS what is Belichicks offseason plan, anyways? KFFL is where the adults post.
Comment by: Tiny Tanguay — March 28, 2006 #

That explains it... it's a keyboard warrior from KFFL Patriots forum trying to embarrass this site. Can you blame 'em? After all we about double their site traffic/amount of posts.

Yeah thats it....wow just wow. I post at KFFL and you couldn't be further from the truth. Some people like to get some sort of rivalry going cause they are bored and most likely they dont post here or there. That doesnt even make sense we are all pat fans.

The theory you presented above is ridiculous to say the least.
