So, I went xmas shopping yesterday at the Holyoke mall (Western MA). I went into the (i forget the name.. who can be bothered with the mall anyways) sports store there. Here is a list of things I saw

1. NOT A SINGLE "SB CHAMP" ITEM FOR SALE (The patriots have won 3 super bowl items. Does it occur to the idiots running the store that super bowl items MIGHT sell?!?!)

[\QUOTE]

The only SB champ I would expect to see is Colts. Anything else is date merchandise and should be on clearance.

2. Multiple "AFC Champ Patriots" items. What is this, 1997?

Sure it wasn't 2007 AFC East Champs -- those would be timely.

5. A "Red Sox Suck" pencil.
[\quote]

Half of the area are Yankee fans

6. Coffee Mugs for about 31 NFL Teams (Jaguars, Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Niners, etc)
7. No Patriot Coffee mugs.

Think maybe they started off with all 32 but as the Pats are doing well, and it is in the Pat fan base area they might have sold out?

No need to take exception. I'm in Berkshire County and anyone who knows this area will tell you it's about a 50/50 Red Sox/Yankee split.

Maybe Holyoke, but not Franklin or Hampshire county.

I stopped by that store in the Holyoke Mall mid November and there was squat merchandise for the Patriots and Red Sox at that time as well. Plenty of other teams stuff though.

That store is fairly good size and loaded with stuff so I was suprised they didn't have a good assortment of Pats and Red Sox things.
The Sox stuff was sold out ,and everyone knows the Pats are hated. :p Frankly I can't imagine why they wouldn't have any Pats, Soxs, Celtics,or Bruins merchandise there, there are plenty enough fans there. Maybe there on the slow boat from China, and haven't arrived yet.

If Springsfield is a arse hole of Central MA, then Holyoke is the taint.

1. You can't even spell Springfield.

2. Springfield and Holyoke are in Western Mass, not Central Mass.

3. You are an idiot.

Thanks!

Look on a map. Holyoke, which lies at the southern tip of pioneer valley is the westernmost part of Central MA. A stones throw away from Western MA.

Wow, you just don't get it. Holyoke ain't even close to being in Central Mass. Quit while you're ahead.

No love for the North Shore Mall??? Good ol' Peabody! How about the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers? is that still there? it's been awhile.:D

3. No Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, or KG jerseys on display.
4. An Antione Walker jersey on display (I stood staring at it for a good 15 seconds in disbelief before my girlfriend goes "Man, that's old")
5. A "Red Sox Suck" pencil.

8. Derek Jeter cardboard cutout in the doorway/entrance.
Wow. This is bad. Horrible. I've never heard of such a terrible thing happening to anyone, ever.

Please call the Suicide Hotline before you do something rash.

Suffice to say; I am disgusted.

how are these idiots still in business?

Like i said i was born in Holjoke. Its IN Western Mass, and once was a nice place to live, but that was a long time ago. Like a lot of Northeastern industrial cities the manufacturing jobs have left and its just a run down town that has a few nice areas left. In the 80's and early 90's it was called "little Beirut" because of the violence. I came back to visit in the 90's I remember going up the went up the street I grew up on ( one of the nicer sections of town) to a supermarket and there was a cop guarding the inside. I had never seen such a thing before. I still have family there, and its the only reason i go back. As far as the mall goes,i try to avoid that too. Pure insanity just trying to get in most of the time. To anyone who knows the area and the mall, that was all farm land at one time, and where i played as a kid. Now it looks like a blight on the land. Theres talk of turning the mall into a casino, can't picture that though.

BINGO!

Not to mention (Celtics shirts), the distance of the Holyoke Mall and the Basketball Hall of Fame. I'm guessing its not too far away.

Not even ten miles, maybe thats why theres talk of making into a casino.

Holyoke is west of the Connecticut River - definitely western mass.

Ahh, the Holyoke Mall.

Snuck in to see Fast Times at Ridgemont High there when I was 14. Are the theaters even there any more?

No, I don't know when they left or why, because I left in the early eighties and they were still there then, but not now.

Did someone say Maroney?.....

My daughter went to Mount Holyoke College which is not in Holyoke. And on the eastern side of the CT. river. So, I was always confused if I was in Western Mass or Central Mass when I went there.

This has nothing to do with the Holyoke Mall or if they stock SB championship stuff from a couple of years ago.

Wait, maybe the thread starter was looking for SB 42 Patriots Championship stuff and they didn't have any.

Just a thought.

thanks , now I'll have to merge this thread.

BTW, as a fellow Mainer I want to let you know that Mardens does not stock SB Championship stuff either.
