Who told you that nonsense? They should have told you that, in the case of Bill O'Brien, he personally decided that he would not (rather than could not) leave Alabama after only one year, given that he had personally assured Nick Saban at the time of his hiring that he would stay for 2 years as Alabama OC.

They are seriously lacking in volume of coaches right now. There’s room for both Brown and Jefferson on the team.

I’m not sure why most folks don’t understand this (or maybe they just choose not to for the sake of enjoying being negative?) Bill O’Brien prides himself on giving minimum 2 year commitments when he signs as a coach. To quote him - “I’m not a 1 and done guy.” This was never about contract enforceability or deference to Saban. It’s not hard to grasp. The Patriots should also expect him to be here a minimum of 2 years.

I'm good w/ that. IIRC last year Troy was helping Ivan with RBs and KR/PRs on STs.

At this point more, quality coaching the better.

It goes right down party lines. There's a group that like to b!tch, and they'll hate on pretty much anything. Truth is, none of us know if this is a good signing or not. Certainly feels like a good move. Folks wanted fresh minds, well, here ya go!

Sure. He decided to stay removed from his family, make more money, and get out of a situation that was never a good fit for him. The same man of character who bailed on Penn State for the NFL after replacing Joe Paterno at his alma mater. Poor Nickie Saban. He would just have had to sign Rees away from Notre Dame a season earlier.

Cults of personality are horrible things. They make people ignore the truth and perpetuate lies. Chess vs. checkers, right boys? Thinking of Joe Paterno. How helpful was his cult to Penn State?

Ted Williams was a mediocre baseball manager…. because among other things, he couldn’t grasp how his players weren’t putting as much time and effort into honing their craft as he did as a player, and he wasn’t effective in convincing them to do that.

Anyone other than judge and Patricia on the offensive side should please anyone..

Alright. I think that does it for the biggest changes needed in coaching. Maybe just missing a dedicated QB coach (a real one).
