Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

You disagree Brady should keep his options open in case he changes his mind?

Sure, he's probably not ever playing again, but how could you say there's a 0% chance he changing his mind. He should let his contract void, become a FA, and keep all options open. Like you said, Tampa Bay benefited greatly from their relationship with Brady. He doesn't owe them anything.
I know his retirement is hitting you hard but you need to let it go bro.

I like Breer's idea of naming a trophy after Brady but it should be the Lombardi, which is the only thing he really cared about.

You didn't answer my question.

I already bought this up. The NFL should definitely retire Brady's number 12. All those quarterbacks Breer names combined have only one more Lombardi than Brady (and Bradshaw has 4 of the 8). And don't get me started on Joe Namath (total insult bringing his name up when taking about all time great quarterbacks).

The NFL should hold off on retiring the number 12 until Brady's HOF induction though. Just in case he wants to make a comeback between now and then ;).

My reply to your post said it all.

But here's my response to your question:

"Good morning, guys, I'll get to the point right away: I'm retiring for good... I wouldn't change a thing. Love you all."

He's done. Finito. Se acabo. Tudo feito.

Tom Brady has pulled off the largest upset of his career!

That's not a response.

You also left out, "I think you only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year."

Brady already reneged on one retirement, as he acknowledges there, so I'm not putting 0% on him doing it again. He should keep all his options open. Who cares about the Bucs now? Not me. Especially considering how badly Bowles ****ed up Brady's "last season."

It could be as simple as him being done man.
Every notable source has said it was retirement or the Bucs. I think he's done the fire is gone you could tell.
Let the king rest

He’d have played on the Phins too since he literally has his house there across the street from his kids. But in retrospect he wasn’t going out to Vegas.

You're not 100% convinced either. We agree.

Hmm, yes it is. There are no options. He's retired. Period.

You also left out, "I think you only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year."
Correct, he already used up his one fake retirement. He's not trying to beat Favre's retirement record. Lol

Well Brady is a businessman now. He has a TB12 facility in Tampa. The City adores him. Believe me, Brady cares.

Not me. Especially considering how badly Bowles ****ed up Brady's "last season."
You don't count.

We need to give our good friend craw time to grieve. He invested a lot of time and energy planning out Brady's future. Between the Tompa and the main forum, he must've posted 200-500 posts on what team Brady would go to. He constructed detailed explanations of the why, where and whens breaking down each team and the pros and cons for each, always dismissing the kids as a consideration.

Now, in an early morning very brief statement from the man himself, all those fantasies are gone in the blink of an eye.

Craw is still in the early stage of grief: denial. We must prepare ourselves for when he reaches the stage of anger, and understand its just a part of a normal process.

Hopefully he moves fast into bargaining, depression, and finally acceptance. He's just trying to process change and protect himself while he adapts to a new reality.

We love you Craw and are here to support you man.

Retiring numbers is just about the stupidest tradition in sports. It's a freakin' number guys and girls - get over it! Only the anal retentive think this 'tradition' is worthy of identifying the Creme de la creme in the sports arena. Like everything else that is supposed to recognize 'the best' it also has been perverted to recognize the good, or the popular. It's a futile and meaningless gesture at this point. If it were up to me I would ban every club from doing it. It's just a flat out dumb idea.

Nobody knows exactly what Tom's thinking we can just connect the dots. My conclusion is he's done

I believe he has a great relationship with the Glazers too. I hope Kraft does everything he can do to make sure he retires a Patriot

lol thanks brother

Really though, Brady has a lot of balls ****ing up my plans for his future.

Rodgers will be wearing #12 in NE this fall.

How did you make the word "****" get through the auto-censor software?

EDIT: Never mind. I just realize I can now also type the word **** without being censored.

Inmates are currently running the prison, it seems.

What's even stupider is the "will he / won't he retire as a Patriot" drama some people are going through right now, all ready to be butt-hurt if it doesn't go the way they want it to go. What the **** does it matter? There are many cases where actors refused Oscars and it didn't change one thing about the movie. In fact, that's the point many were making. **** all this patting ourselves on the back ****, it's all about the movie.
