What an opportunity for a redemption btw. If your only job is to hand off to McCaffrey and the rest of the stable of rbs, throw little dump off passes to CM, 5 yard slants to Deebo while also having the security blanket of Kittle who probably is the best blocking te around, have one of the best defenses, then I say thats a win. If you can’t handle that then its probably time to retire.

Nah. Carr just signed an extension.

Mayfield is a backup now. He is not a threat.

Don't be shocked if an NFC team takes him, just to keep him away from the 9ers. Or there's that terriblly managed team that picks him up for no reason.

I suppose they could get cap relief if he's claimed... But they get that anyways if he's claimed... can't guarantee anything to anyone because of the waiver wire

If it could happen to Baker Mayfield, it certainly can happen to Mac Jones. Unless the coaching improves.

He needs hard coaching, and situation where he's just a cog in the machine (at least until he (theoretically) gets his issues straightened out. And he needs to be willing to accept that.

I hope the 49ers don't pick him up because it might actually work. He sucks but with the right supporting cast he's probably not much worse than Garoppolo. Mayfield won't help anyone else this season. Maybe if the Rams weren't completely out of it then they could have considered him.

We did the same thing with Brian Hoyer a few years ago after trading Garoppolo to them.
