By the numbers: Patricia's offense downright offensive

You’re pretending I suggested this offense has been good. I never did.

The most points scored in 2022 came with the other guy playing at QB… coincidence?
Lol says the guy who has locked his user name so no one can throw the dumb things you've said back in your face.

Uh oh he yelled at Patricia where have we heard that before. Enjoy the bench Mac, Zappe it is then for the rest of the season.

I should be benched then as well, along with other people yelling for vertical shots DOWNFIELD. Obviously, runs and short horizontal passes were not cutting it.

Zappe’s TD percentage is 5.4%, Mac’s is 2.6%.

Zappe’s averages 8.5 yards per pass attempt, Mac’s is 7.3.

Zappe’s QB Rating is 100.9, Mac’s is 87.

Zappe in two starts has two fewer TD’s than Mac has on the entire season.

Don’t blame me, I said they should have rode the hot hand. Mac got asked once yesterday, it wasn’t the line.

What do you expect Mac to say, the OL sucked? He fell on his sword for the entire crap show, including his role in it. But at this stage I wouldn't mind seeing Zappe get another chance if for no other reason than to prove the offense's problem is systemic. Not even prime Tom Brady could put lipstick on Patricia's pig.

I think he said the "quick game" sucks. Supposedly Patricia's plan was to throw it behind the line or short and make our guys miss...

Never adjusted when it didn't work

The article I saw quoted 'run the ball, the quick game sucks'

Hmm either makes sense. Apparently Patricias game plan was to throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage and let defenders miss...

That didn't work so well so Patricia stuck with it.

Yeah I can't make out if he's saying Run the ball or Throw the ball, but he's Definitely saying The quick game sucks... Which it does.

Somehow the zappe crowd believes that Mac is holding back Patricias brilliance. Despite so much evidence to the contrary.

I have yet to see evidence that this offense is amazing and just Mac is holding it back. Maybe Zappe is better. But the offenses problems are systemic and largely due to poor coaching.

When the receiver says they don't know what the opposing defense tendencies are that is bad. They are just calling random plays

100 bucks says Patricia, after getting fired from Detroit, somehow managed to convince BB to hire him as the OC since the de facto DC job was taken by Brian Belichick. Sad part is that Bill said yes. Putting friends and family over team...that seems to be the new Patriot Way,

Agreed. And the play calling before the end of the 1st half is indicative of the putrid coaching

Kinda hard to score when the opposing offense has the ball for 3/4 of the game.

Patricia is only one of the problems.

Yes it is hard to score like that... And yes Phatt Matt is only one of the problems... But he's the Biggest problem, both literally & figuratively.

It's funny because I was reading a transcript from Bourne and he basically blamed the O-line...interesting to see what happens going forward.

Plus we don't have Any RBs besides Rham Tough... And I mean Zero...Zip...Zilch...Nada...Bupkus...
Granted, John Hannah is retired, Bruce Armstrong is retired, and David Andrews may be done for the year.

But run blocking is not only simpler than pass blocking (especially if your quarterback is able to sense and avoid the pass rush AND zapp the ball (so to speak) to an open receiver), it instills teamwork and confidence in the O-line. It takes pressure off the quarterback, beats up the defense and sets up the pass. Grogan and Weis, to name two, understood and executed this. Effectively. It further controls the game and the clock, and keeps the defense off the field and fresh. Running (creatively, not just straight ahead into the line) on 3rd & 1 and/or in the red zone rarely loses yardage and is the least likely to turn the ball over, protecting a FG attempt or making a 4th down play shorter and thus more makeable. Running is also very effective from the shotgun and/or in typical passing situations where the defense is not prepared. I don't think Matty is any worse than any other OC in the league, which unfortunately means they basically all suck. Cleveland has the best rushing game in the league however they fail to employ it intelligently. The Patriots do not need Jim Brown or Barry Sanders to run successfully and win. Throughout this century, we were not more talented than our opponents, but we played much smarter. The last few years we relied on Brady just being awesome. The Patriots' defense is very good. Their offense can be good enough, but only by running it 30 times a game and putting Zappe in there. The kid has it. Jones doesn't.

You suggested the Phatt one wasn't a problem when he is the Biggest problem, along with the QB, his Horrible Even When Healthy OL, and Nelson Agholor.

I think not either... And I agree with you: Zappy should never, Ever, EVER have been sitting on the bench to start da Bears game... That was the Beginning of the End of this season.

I don't put much on the players. Patricia's lack of playcalling ability does not put them in a position to succeed. I don't blame Mac for not having the confidence to even think about looking to a second read.

It's the players too... It's a Grand Slam of Suck: Coaching, OL, QB, & Nelson Agholor.

My memory may need refreshing. I do not recall Matt's defense being remarkable so putting him in charge of the offense was never a great idea.

Asked the great Mike Kadlick his thoughts on offensive struggles:

It's NOT the offensive Line's "health," it's the offensive Line PERIOD.

Brown might've had a tummy ache or whatever, but the ****ing Muscle-Flexer ****ing SUCKS at Left Tackle;

Strange69 is healthy, but in No way, shape or form was he worth THE ****ING 29TH ****ING OVERALL ****ING PICK IN THE ENTIRE ****ING DRAFT;

Andrews is Tougher than Tough, and the Undisputed Real Leader of this team; but he's also what he is too, and that's naturally limited in his pile-pushing abilities;

Big Mike is the ONLY player on the OL worthy of Any kind of "pro-bowl" consideration;

Conor McDermott still Sucks; those of us paying attention already knew that 5 years ago;

And don't even mention the words Depth and Patriots Offensive Line in the same sentence... They are - and have Purposefully been - mutually exclusive here for quite awhile now.
