Patriots Official Unofficial 53-Man Roster: Pre-Season Edition

My 53 based on what I want to happen. The 2nd section below is what I think will happen. The differences are Hoyer, Russey vs Ferentz, Ray vs Anderson, McGrone vs Tavai, Wade, Schooler vs Davis

No one is picking up Zappe, he will easily make it to PS. He does not deserve a spot on the 53

Could not agree more!

Here is Reiss' latest 53 roster...He's usually plugged in...BIggest shocker is Uche is not on it, Trade or oversight. (McMillan would return after Thornton goes on IR)

Herron deserves no place on this squad. He’ll probably get it, but he definitely doesn’t deserve it. Sure hope BB & Co. are working the hell out of that waiver/ trade market.

Herron has had a bad camp. I have him on the outside looking in to Cajuste. He didn't 'take advantage of his opportunity when Wynn was out.

Herron was "ok" in 2020 at LT. Since then he's had multiple OL coaching changes, different blocking schemes and played at RT. He's not good enough to handle all of these changes IMO.

You think no one will claim Zappe?

I am in favor of carrying two centers and three guards. I think having four tackles is the unfortunate cost of doing business with brittle Trent Brown and fickle Wynn.

I am in agreement with Reiss’s 53 projection. We need Brendan Schooner on ST. And no way the two rookie DTs in LaBryan and Roberts clear waivers.

My biggest gripe with the team after the shambles of the install of the zone blocking scheme (Onwenu says hi) is the love for Tavai. He is such a liability in pass coverage.

Ask any Detroit Lion fan.

Possible new home for Wynn.

I don't understand why he would take up a roster spot. He reminds of Michael Bishop. He does some flashy things but doesn't appear close to a prime time player. He would be the easiest cut to me. He will still be around for the PS.

He is a rookie. He hasn't looked great in preseason, but he hasn't looked bad. He looks a heck of a lot better than 2 or 3 of the qb's drafted ahead of Mac did last year. He will make the team.

I'm sure they said the same thing about Van Noy.

At least two of Cardona, H. Anderson, T. Mitchell, J Bethel, and Cody Davis will be cut, and elevated weeks one, two, and three off the practice squad.

I think Ferentz is an automatic for the third player in that role.

C’mon,
• A rookie 4th round pick has never been cut by the BB Pats before the opening 53.
* If there is a “first time” exception, it would likely be a knucklehead rookie who slept through practices or had a felony level off-field thing, not true here.
* If there was any player to be patient with, it would be a fantastically productive small college QB with small college coaching and competion.

I don’t care if Zappe has had some bad rookie pre-season snaps, there is no way he doesn’t make the 53.

It was revised early Sunday morning. Uche is now on it. Sam Roberts has dropped off. Must have been an oversight

Zappe reminds me of Brees…who needs some time to acclimate to the NFL. On more then one occasion Zappe has looked better then Mac In practice with wide zone.

Good final roster projection by Alex Barth.....I agree with most of the players, going to be tough to agree on every player. I'd try and get Hines on here and also Roberts and Wade.
