Patriots waive DT Byron Cowart

his upside wasnt good from the beginning.

He started 14 games his 2nd year. Taken in the bottom 1/3rd of the draft. Can't stay healthy. Whatever.

The "whatever" is that there were prospects still available at that spot who could've helped us more than that over-drafted, under-achieving stiff ever would have, such as LBs David Long & Cole Holcomb, CBs Rashad Fenton, Kris Boyd & Blessed Austin, WRs Darius Slayton & Scotty Miller... and DT Armon Watts.

Billy traded Up for this wastrel... Sheer incompetence...

And BTW, the Coward was taken in the middle third of the draft.

Yep....we'd win six SBs w/o BB.

He never played in 2021 which could have been due to his 2020 injury. Some injuries people don't recover from - I think J White and his hip will be the same. There is never a reason to speculate (and slander) a player like "out of shape" and "ran his mouth" when it appears he may have had a career ending injury.
Really? Never a reason to speculate? It's called giving possible reasons for why he was released early to answer the question that was asked.

There was no 2020 Injury.. The only time he spent on the IR in 2020 was because of Covid and he missed 1 game And he came back to play after that in ever game except the game against Arizona.

How is it slanderous to say Cowart ran his mouth last year because he did so? You'd know that if you had actually paid attention. But you got a hard on for trying to show people despite reality. When someone says that "he ended up not playing at all" that doesn't necessarily mean one particular game. It can be the entire season. All is an encompassing word like that.

Harry, a former first round pick WR who actually played the last three years (not effectively, but he played, and has significant tape), netted a 7th two years from now. No way a 5th round DT who didn't play at all last year was getting anyone to trade for him.

Cowart has as good of a chance to make a impact for the Colts as Harry does for the Bears.
