Breaking: Gronk to Retire

If Brady is giving his tribute to Gronk then maybe this really is it. Guess we'll see. I still don't think he will knowing this is likely Brady's last rodeo.

Tom Brady retirement part I Ash where have you been??
lol, very true...with TB, everyone knew he wanted to still play, but his family played a big part, with Gronk, I never have gotten the feeling that he wants to continue to play. Who knows though, we'll see if he signs those retirement papers.

I personally think we're looking at a "new normal", but you are of course entitled to your own opinion, my friend.

BTW when I used the  meme I was not laughing at you, I was laughing about how something like retirement gets abused when it suits the player.

I personally think Gronk has his price, and Brady will be begging him to come back and it's more likely than not that he will come back.

No worries, I didn't take it like that :)

And we'll see! It certainly wouldn't shock me either way.

The HOF list grows a little longer ... Brady can't be far behind. Hopefully they help pave the way for Wilfork, Harrison, Slater, maybe Mankins. We need more guys in. Every fan should care about this.

wouldn't be surprsied to see them both go into the HOF in the same year...

“Even more excited for all you have ahead for you”…

That would be great but wouldn't that mean Gronk doesn't get in on his first try??

And honestly both want zero to do with this franchise. 2 first ballot hall of famers who want to be remembered as Bucs over Patriots.
That's the sad part. Maybe once they are out the grid feel otherwise. Similar to how Peyton retired as a broncos and wanted nothing to do with colts.

Heavy respect for slater, mccourty, Edelman , wilfork.

I think it depends on when Gronk files his retirement papers...that is the trigger for the 5 year waiting period. So if Gronk holds off until Brady officially retires, they can get in in the same class...

I mean it doesn't really matter what they want to be remembered as. The world knows of them because they were Patriots but you'd think that the greatest QB and TE of all time would like the franchise that gave them their biggest success.

According to my brother the top 5 are:

Bill Russell
Larry Bird
Tom Brady
Ted Williams
Bobby Orr
Eddie Shore always gets shortchanged on these Boston lists

Only Russell (5) earned more regular season league MVP honors than Bruins defenseman Eddie Shore (4).......plus (2) Stanley Cups

Shore holds the NHL record for most MVPs won by a defensemen (4)
Orr (2) MVPs..........................2 Stanley Cups
Ray Bourque (0) MVPs........0 Stanley cups as a Bruin, 1 as an Avalanche

Another retirement post with no mention of New England.
It is absolutely unacceptable that Belichick and the patriots have pissed off two of the greatest players to such an extent that they both won’t mention the patriots in retirement posts. Absolutely horrible for the organization.

Thank you Bill

First ballot HOFer TE. Thanks for all the great memories Gronk. You were a BEAST!!

I'll always remember his draft day celebration with his whole family when he found out he was drafted by the Patriots! Rob was so excited and he brought us so many great moments of excitement and excellence through the years!

Didn't BB trade Gronk to the Bucs when he was retired? If BB wanted to, he could have just held onto Gronk without trading him...not sure of the relationship that BB or RK had with Gronk, but it always seemed to me that Gronk was happy here.

Thank you for a decade of winning and great play Gronk. I look forward to your next career of reality shows, WWE wrestling, and poorly acted commercials. And I say that with love.

So he couldn't mention the New England fans because of that?

That's on Gronk. He got what he wanted, a trade to Tampa to reunite with Brady because of BB.

He could have but he didn't. Same with Brady. Hope people remember that when they are cheering on the bucks this season.

As for Gronk, he is the best all around tight end. No doubt. But I couldn't care less about him or his retirement.

Go Pats.

I think maybe they read your stupid posts and did not want to be associated with a fandom of re tards

I don't buy it. He will be back during the season to play with Brady
