I've complained about your posts exactly 0 times but ok.

Your sigs gloating about the Patriots losing SB42 is a different story and anything I said about that was in public on the board. No real Patriots fan on a Pats board would have a sig like that regardless of how they feel about Brady now.

Also the word Bradyite was my creation so where are my royalty checks. lol

I didn't say you were the one complaining. But there were others who were.

If you trademark the word "Bradyite," then you can talk about getting royalties.

TBH I don't think it'll ever be "normal" until BB and TB both retire. People are always going to be debating who was more important and who was wrong or who was right. I personally think BB and TB both made the right decision. We couldn't keep living on "is this the year" with Brady, we had to start rebuilding at some point. And we followed the same strategy with Brady as we did with other favorites/veterans: say goodbye sooner rather than later.

Like 50-yard-line tried (and failed horribly) to say, there are always going to be loud irrational people on both sides of the debate that you can't argue with. I don't get why people waste the energy doing it but to each their own
Not going to lie...there was a bit of an exhale when he said he was retiring and I was hoping we could put half of that to bed.

I understand the debate and people wondering who was more important, even though they both needed each other to reach the point they're both at now. Obviously, nothing lasts forever so clearly it had to end at some point.

And I don't know about people complaining or being frustrated coming to an end when they both walk away. And I say that primarily because judging where things are headed, the successor probably won't be someone people will be happy about either, which will probably be the next big argument we'll get to look forward to ;)

Overall the forum is still the best out there not just Patriots wise, but NFL as a while. Thanks to you and your mods. Some debate is healthy and I've never felt the need of blocking anybody, but some peeps go over the top so it's a great feature to add.

Pretty sure he was joking ;)

And your stat line with Brady is also ridiculous, but that's a story for another day.

People like crawhammer and SB1. That’s when I go to the Brady forum and troll them back. Then they complain and I get in trouble.

Well it looked like here you were calling me out for complaining.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see the point of making those sigs about Brady and SB42 other than to annoy people. That is one of the worst moments that any fanbase in any sport will ever experience and that's not something I would talk up even if I disliked the players involved. And the deflategate stuff as Ian pointed out. Goes without saying.

We have a thread going on discussing rookie training camp, and the same old posters turned it into a bashing of the coaching staff. If you want to bash the coaching staff, start a thread and do it. Don't do it in the rookie mini camp thread. Come on Ian, there has to be a limit somewhere.

Some of it is just human nature you can't really regulate or moderate all of it without turning it into a way too restrictive environment

Exactly, that's why the hope is to try and give people the ability to have a little more control on their own, albeit like you said, human nature is obviously the challenge with that.

The funny part of the sig is that he is making his hero, Mac Jones, look really bad by showing Jones do a little celebration regarding his performance in the Tampa Bay game.

I agree that Jones played better than Brady in that game - but Jones lost. Brady won. If any QB did a little celebration about outplaying the opposing QB in a game they lost then I don't want him on my team - and this forum would ridicule that QB mercilessly. (Fortunately, Mac Jones is not like that and the video is not an accurate representation of how Jones really felt after that game)

The gif is kind of cool, so I don't have an issue with that. And supporting Jones is great but it doesn't need to be to the point of bashing Brady, especially when there was no way Brady was playing in his rookie year as a 6th-round pick. Completely different expectations.

As it was, Brady essentially outplayed the back-ups enough that Belichick refused to waive him for fear of him being claimed, which is why they even carried four to start the season that year. And I think he's mentioned before that he didn't even become a back-up, which actually isn't accurate because he was the one who came in after Bledsoe was pulled in that Thanksgiving day game ahead of both Friesz and Bishop. That in and of itself was a massive accomplishment for him to climb that high in his first year given who he was coming in.

OFC the funniest part of the sig is knowing the former screen name of the poster it belongs to

Yeah I know he was joking

If I remove the sig, I reserve the right to bring it back if the Tommyites start to act up again...;)

I have two genuine questions:
  1. Why do posters here care if a Tampa Bay/Brady forum exists here, or what is said in it? I truly don't understand the protest about it.
  2. Felger is on TV?!?!

What's really funny about it is that the posters who complain about the Brady forum are the same posters who demanded Brady stuff be removed from the main forum, and the same posters who don't seem to grasp that Patsfans.com has an NFL forum ( NFL Football Forum ) that would be getting complete dominated by Brady stuff if it weren't for the Brady forum.

It's clownish behavior on their part.

Exactly, which is why I created that forum. Again, there are enough people who want to discuss it and while he's a member of another team, it makes sense. When he eventually retires, it will be another story but for now, having that forum absolutely makes perfect sense.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the Brady forum (we're already at 60 pages btw...and TC hasn't even started)...it's the people on the Brady forum who routinely come to the main board to troll about Bill that's the issue.

@Ian, human nature is part of it, as is what's happened to our brains, habits, assumptions, and emotional self management skills as a result of social media. People are literally being changed physically by it, and manipulated to feel extreme negative emotions at a frequency and intensity that we aren't adapted to from an evolutionary standpoint. I'd suggest that every internet forum has a role to play in that, in one way or the other. There's no innocent internet interaction at this point, and no interactive space is neutral in its impact. We are making our own beds everyday, collectively.

I've heard about that Netflix Documentary but haven't watched it yet. Definitely need to try and find some time at some point.
