In my opinion what you are talking about and what goes on in the Tompa Gronka thread are still apples and oranges. I’ve spoken to a couple of Colts fan friends and more than a few Packers fans and they can’t recall anything similar with Manning and Favre, respectively. In all honesty, they just may have - we just didn't really pay attention. When Manning came back and started winning with Denver and the Colts were struggling, I can tell you for a fact that a ton of Colts fans jumped on that bandwagon. Did they follow the Broncos, transactions, etc. as closely? That I don't know, but I'd be willing to bet there were.
And a lot of us followed Brady and rooted for him during that 7-9 season when we had nothing else to look forward to. Keep in mind, the guy was here for 20-years and he gave us a ton of great memories. I hate the way it ended, but I wish him well - unless we're obviously playing them.
It's a strange dynamic, but "it is what it is". And I'm not going to fault people who want to follow him. It is a little strange how some can't just root for both and there's a lot of venom sent in either direction, but given how things have evolved online, not a whole lot seems to surprise me anymore, as disappointing as that sounds.
Just an FYI - my wife had family here, along with a situation that happened at home late last week that had me offline the last few days and I'm trying to get back up to speed. As is normally the case, when life becomes difficult here at home is usually when things go south in here...good times
I sort of fall on the same thing. If you don't like it, don't go in there.I have two genuine questions:
- Why do posters here care if a Tampa Bay/Brady forum exists here, or what is said in it? I truly don't understand the protest about it.
- Felger is on TV?!?!

Favre was a different story, he was worn out at the end although he had a massive following and I recall a Packers site that had threads specific to him. Not at the level that we do, but I remember coming across them and thinking it was interesting. In my opinion what you are talking about and what goes on in the Tompa Gronka thread are still apples and oranges. It's legit hilarious that you make this post and in it, you cut and paste posts from the thread/forum you're complaining about. BTW Ian is perfectly fine with that forum being here. You continually questioning Ian's decisions is getting old. Now STFU.It’s legit hilarious that the Tompa Gronka thread regulars don’t think there is anything strange about following the team of an ex-player so closely. Rooting for Brady and watching the Bucs every week is understandable (I don’t but I get why some Pats fans do) but what goes on in that thread (following every roster move, discussing how Tampa matches up with their 2022 opponents, recent changes to the TB 12 method) has never occurred in the history of major professional sports fan sites.
Dozens of “Pats fans” have now adopted the Bucs as their favorite team. Pathetic. Most here would have been laughing at the Colts fans if they had done the same for Manning/The Broncos.
These are actual recent posts:
It is amazing how much more forward I am looking forward to the Bucs season than the Pats. What a terrible draft by Bill.
Thank god for Brady coming back I swear to god. That’s all I can say.
Most of the regulars in that thread should be treated no differently than Jets fans trolls at this point. Imagine any of those front-running, GOAT-obsessed (yes OBSESSED) posters during the late 80s/early 90s years. LOL. They aren’t ex-Pats fans. They are never-were Pats fans.
I don't go in there, never have and never will.
I'm not a Tampa fan, why would I?

I have gone to CP a couple of times just to read the meltdowns, GG maybe once, same reason....never signed up for either, but saw guys from here in both of them.Exactly.
Hard to care about what goes on in a thread when you never go in it. Sort of like visiting 'Gang Green' or 'Chiefs Planet'
Although on second thought, some of the stuff I see quoted from Chiefs Planet is pretty funny.
If those were the PatsFans monkeys they'd be flinging their poo.
LOL COJ, I have a few on ignore, and came here on the phone not signed in. One of the guys I ignore follows me around, despite months of me ignoring him, taking shots at my posts
So yeah, it's asymmetric... but who cares

Hope up, did cupofjoe agree with me on something to the extent that he liked my post?

Just an FYI, if it's really an issue, I can remove their ability to react to your posts. I quietly implemented that for people who were getting harassed (it's manual update I coded out) and it sounds like this falls into that category. So if that's the case, let me know and I'll be happy to implement it.I only like posts, when I dislike a post, I Usually respond.
I am not like RYGURA who hasn’t made 1 post in the 15 years, but he has disliked 100’s of my posts.
I don’t hold grudges on patsfans
I just say what’s on my mind & move on.
Someone gets nasty, then 2 can play at that game.
But…..,Tomorrow is another day
And anyone who has this issue can PM me if that's easier if you'd rather not get into it publicly. I think I know who you’re referring to.One of the guys I ignore follows me around, despite months of me ignoring him, taking shots at my posts
RYGURA follows me around & dislikes everything I post. He disliked 15 of my posts in 18 minutes today.
Here is the kicker…. @Rygura has been a member of Patsfans since 2007, but he has Zero posts in 15 years.
It is probably a members secondary ID.
They should check the IP & see if there is a match with another user.
I’ve had a 2-3 triggered posters that followed me and would be the first to respond to anything I posted. It was really bizarre. Thankfully, they aren’t here anymore. Also, I’ve observed there’s either rivalries between posters or poster A has to respond and try to humiliate poster B on anything poster B posts.I only like posts, when I dislike a post, I Usually respond.
