I think the only reason he's so shifty and fast during returns is he doesn't want to get hit. Which is great, I guess.
Only thing I saw that scared me was Patricia in that draft room.Yes the draft grades are BS. But the public relations and bad press coverage hurts the team. It gives the appearance that the pats are the new laughing stock of the league (the new Cleveland Brown's)
1. McVay's viral video
2. Odell's trolling
3. Kiper and McShay's draft grades
4. Free agency inactivity
5. Gronk saying pats are cheap
6. Brady not thanking Pats during retirement
7. Brady leaving the team
7. Getting blown out in the playoffs with the bills not punting once.
All in all the trajectory appears to be downward and it may impact whether veteran players want to join this team.
If the Pats finish 3rd or fourth in the division next year (which is definitely a possibility)...I could definitely see BB moving on , either his own decision or Kraft nudging him. Buffalo, Miami and yes even the Jets are on upward trajectories and Pats I believe are heading in the wrong direction.
They had to take the entire 5th round off to feed him.Only thing I saw that scared me was Patricia in that draft room.
NFL footage is unavailable where he's playing against faster, heavier hitters. Like I said, hope he runs faster than Richard Prior with his hair on fire trying to avoid hits, because having shoulder problems w/ alligator arms is not a good outlook.I’m just going to assume you’ve watched none of his highlight footage, then.
OK, but that’s not what you claimed, which is that he has an aversion to contact. That ain’t true.NFL footage is unavailable where he's playing against faster, heavier hitters. I don't see why we should be concerned with outside perception. Pats fans need to get behind the team and provide support and not waste energy showing how they know more than the people running the program. I'm pretty sure we will field a competent team and the offense should be effective. While we can view the defense in the prism of two buffalo games, I expect a competitive defense. I'm excited to see what the team becomes. I'm eager to see how last year's backups can contribute this year along with draftees and udfa's. Part 1 of the football season is over. Part 2 begins.Yes the draft grades are BS. But the public relations and bad press coverage hurts the team. Sorry about my lack of communication. The kid can definately hit, thus his shoulder injuries.OK, but that’s not what you claimed, which is that he has an aversion to contact. That ain’t true.
Yeah, Detroit fans hated the huge, slow linebacker he drafted early who is now with the Patriots.Only thing I saw that scared me was Patricia in that draft room.
You have the user name of Sam Bam. That would lead me to believe that you might be old enough to remember when the Patriots during the 70s,80s, and until the early 90s were justifiable laughing stocks. This is not even close.Yes the draft grades are BS. But the public relations and bad press coverage hurts the team. It was Kraft and Parcells, especially the new coach, who changed the perception of the team in the nation. Younger Patriots have no idea how bringing the legendary Giants coach on board was a real coup for Kraft and the Patriots. You have the user name of Sam Bam. I guess I'm triggered by arm chair QBs who claim BB is an idiot and that they can do better (not that the post I responded to took that stance). I work as a Project Manager, responsible for the success of large petrochemical projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars (I'm currently doing two renewable diesel project), which n some ways is not dissimilar to BBs role. I'm the guy who has to make the big decisions and be responsible for them and I always have non-participants (usually accountants) who know nothing about what it takes to successfully complete these types of project question the decisions that are made. And I have seen some of these non-participants find themselves put into a position like mine and they all fall flat on their face when they become the one who has to make the call as they find out it's not easy being the "buck stops here" guy. So while it's easy for arm chair QBs to say they prefer player X over player Y when they don't have to make the call or be responsible for it, I'll give BB the benefit of the doubt because I know what it's like to be sitting in the decision making chair.I see this type of response often and I really don't care for it. The poster you're responding to was asked for his opinion on this year's draft and gave it. That's why we're here isn't it?
I don't know what to think of Strange. He is a plug and play guard this season but the profile keeps reading like a center or possible tackle. Also, he is physically similar to Cross (picked 8th). No one had an issue with a center in the first round by Pitt. Lastly, I think he was more of 2nd round than 3rd round prospect but 3rd round sounds better for those who arent happy with the pick.I can understand needing a LG who is smart and tough, almost like an enforcer. The guys playing in the Patriots Oline are too nice. Like teddy bears.
But Cole Strange a couple of rounds later.
We should definitely have addressed the defense first. And I wholeheartedly endorse the trade down from 21 to 29.
Why we didn’t pick one of Travis Jones or George Karlaftis or Daxton Hill or Andrew Booth just baffles me.
No problem. My bad. I thought of that after I posted my response.
What I'm waiting for is a grade for the draft coverage. I've never seen so many people in one place doing nothing but watching a big screen full of more nothing. If they weren't standing many of those fans probably would have fallen asleep. Did people have to pay for that?
Seems like they are drafting only guys with the best stats; fastest, highest, most, etc…I hope it pans out!
yes unfortunately I am old enough to remember when Haynes, Cunningham, and Stingley were drafted. You have the user name of Sam Bam.
