Draft Day 2 - Pregame thread

Defense, defense, defense. That's the name of the game tonight. Use tomorrow's picks to add OL help and take a flyer on a tools-y WR prospect. Tonight they need potential impact players on defense. Preferably one at each level of the defense.

I would love to see them move up and take NT Travis Jones and see the meltdowns on this forum......

NT is such a huge need that anyone who watched the Buffalo game should be thrilled with Travis Jones. I think they sit tight and take Ridgeway from Arkansas, a massive run stopper who would be great alongside Christian Barmore.

WR John Metchie, LB Leo Chenal, DT Phildarrian Mathis, WR Christian Watson, CB Roger McCreary, LB Troy Andersen are my primary Day 2 targets

My targets are LO Chenal, DT Travis Jones, CB Booth, LB Asamoah, and Edge Ebiketie. They probably won't get any of them, but I would love any one of them; two if at all possible.

They have some ability to move around with the recently acquired capital. It would not surprise me to see them move up to take Chenal. The more I watch him the more I start to think he is the best linebacker (for NE) in the draft. He completely takes over games like a good mike will. Thunderous explosions in the run game. Excellent blitzer (LB blitzing is timing and getting skinny). Sideline to sideline in pursuit. A+ instincts. Executes the play assignments with clean technique. Fifteen years ago he's gone in the top 20. It's not even that he's slow, either, his play speed is super fast. Wisconsin just usually had him in hook zones or blitzing so he doesn't have a lot standing out as a coverage guy. Which is cool if you're got 14 strong safeties on your roster to surround him with. If they take him I'm cool with however things play out.

Just did a run where I landed Sean Rhyan at 54, Marquis Hayes at 85, and Cade Mays at 94! LFG!

(Too soon?)

Ready for disappointment day 2. I want an athletic LB , Dt (but I can wait till 4th rd). I am afraid of taking a cb in 2nd rd. OT ?

Official thread for today is up, gonna lock this one in a few.

The ESPN draft team that pulls the player highlights together must be ****ting their pants when NE comes up for a pick. Not a ****ing clue in the world who BB is going to pick and are always left scrambling. So unprepared that they didn’t even play Strange’s highlights on the whole broadcast.

I'm going to be slightly contrarian here.

I love how Belichick has set up this draft. A couple months ago we had only 6 (I think, going off memory) picks and we were gnashing our collective teeth that we didn't have enough draft capital to fill all our holes. A few trades later and now we have six picks (including Strange) in the top-127 and an opportunity to get a real influx of talent out of this draft.

While Strange isn't a sexy pick, he's likely a Day 1 starter which is all you can ask for out of a 1st rd. pick. Now Belichick can use his next 10 picks to move around the board and find a CB, ILB, DT/NT/Edge and anything else he wants, including a left-footed punter. And, with the strength of the draft (HT to BGC) from 30-90, we are set up to really make hay.

So, steel your spine folks, this draft has the chance to help re-make this team for the next 4-5 years.

In Bill We Trust. Truly!

I don’t know who I like better between Metchie, Moore, Tolbert and Doubs.
I have them all pretty evenly ranked.
George Pickens is better than all Doubs is the least of the bunch.
