[Warning: Chris refuses to crop his screenshots] Wow give credit where credit is due. Miami Dolphins [Not accurate]

I’m with you on the overpay for Hill.
However we will both be wrong if the Dolphins offense is top 5 resembling the KCS or a crazy hybrid of some kind.
Every defensive coordinator is going to account for Hill on every play, Waddle showed he is a all pro talent.
They have a borderline all pro tight end in Gesecki.
Throw in Preston Williams and co and they have threats at every level of the field.
I think what McDaniel and Welker will do is use Hill as a decoy on alot
Of plays and just that second or two of hesitation should open up the offense.
I can’t wait to see how Bill attacks these high powered offenses.
Bill the Chess master.

With a shot putter at QB who throws a ball no one wants to catch.

Tua has skills that can still be productive.

He still throws in stride, especially on short throws, can get rid of the ball quickly after the snap and is decisive. His mobility is solid too.

His deep ball isn't great, but with a good receiver he will be fine.

I don't know about you guys but I think there's a chance the Dolphins will surprise people next year. We forget that Tua had an atrocious line last year, and again, was also bogged down by all the Deshaun Watson trade rumors.

Tua owns the Pats. He now has the fastest WR in football. I hope this version of the Pats can somehow overcome this obstacle.

They would need a QB that can throw on a dime flying sideways through the air. Waddle and Hill won't make the offense great if their QB can only throw slants well

Isn't this essentially giving Miami great credit for SF's idiocy?

And didn't Miami possibly just reverse that idiocy, because what's missing in this evaluation is the contract the Dolphins just gave to a 28-year-old WR who is completely reliant on his unmatched play speed.

Don't get me wrong, Hill is a game-changer, at least up to now, BUT...in addition to never being able to root for the idiot, the $$$$ for receivers is insane. Miami has a first-year, brand-new head coach, and still has a QB problem - are they going to be short-cross and slants on every down? - in that Tua has shown little ability to throw it down the field well. If it takes them a couple of years to figure that kind of major deal out, Tyreek is 30 and Waddle is getting ready for his own payday.

Does anyone think this and other acquisitions puts the Dolphins in a place to contend with the Bills? If not this year and next year, they look to me like they've tied an albatross around their necks.

or the CAP could truly explode and I, and the Patriots, are playing it all wrong.

28<>30. Huge difference when it comes to productivity in the NFL. 28 is basically the peak of an NFL players career. If Tyreek underperforms in the next 3-4 years, it wont be due to age.

Sure, but HIll's game is strictly outrunning coverage (and Reid's schemes and Mahome's goodness). The point is, are the Dolphinis really ready to compete for the title NOW (with a new HC), or next year (with a new QB, likely)?

I'd have kept the picks and the $$$. I'm not buying that WRs are suddenly super-duper better simply because they're getting paid their diva-perks.

Credit or no credit, Miami has playmakers on both sides of the ball and an innovative coach. It is likely they will finish ahead of the pats. Tua is being vastly underrated and I expect his numbers next year will be better than Mac Jones.

Bill will attack high powered offenses the same way he always does....bend but don't break, give up 3, 7 or 10 in the first half.....and then give up 30 the second half ..just like the last 2 games vs KC w Brady at Gillette and then the AFC title game

Damn I hope the Tua part is wrong but he does have superior weapons.

Credit is not so much due to the Dolphins as much as they lucked out on being the recipient to SF's massive blunder.
So we shouldn't credit DA for securing the foundation of the current Celtics team in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown because he robbed the Nets blind? GM grand theft larceny heists like that are exactly the reason those guys get paid the big bucks.

Rather what I would say is the Dolphins returns look good for now, but let's see how it works out on the field first. Even the two Jays took a few years to round out into top form. They look unbelievably good as a duo now but were just inexperienced guys who couldn't even close out games with 4th quarter leads just a few years ago.

Only reason they got a big haul for that number 3 pick was because SF wanted a QB and Miami didn't want one. If Tua ends up being a bust, none of the receivers they drafted or gave big money to would mean a damn thing, and they would overpay to get a competent QB just like SF did.
LOL and San Fran doesn't even know if they got a competent QB yet. The kid couldn't beat out Jimmy Garoppolo for playing time. The 9ers could easily be kicking themselves a year or two from now if Lance doesn't pan out and they need to spend top draft currency to draft yet another QB early because they passed on... that Mac Jones kid.
