The only fair way is sudden death but a silent auction to determine who and where the ball is spotted (closest to own end zone to go plays offense). Unless every team submits the 1 yard line it removes the coin toss advantage entirely. Why do these leagues continue to address non-problems, and lessen their games in the process, while ignoring the actual problems they have?
Short of just having a game decided by a straight coin flip, sudden death overtime is the closest thing to "fair" that a sport like football can ever hope to come up with.
After that Dallas game, I'm not surprised.Looks like the Pats were one of the yes votes.
I'm fine with it as well, but I think a non negligible portion of fans and NFL decision makers would be against it because of some vague complaint about participation trophies, soccer, Europe, etc.I'm ok with games in the regular season just ending in ties. There's no point to OT in the regular season.
I think the problem is that kickers have become too good and they moved the touchback up to the 25.Why do these leagues continue to address non-problems, and lessen their games in the process, while ignoring the actual problems they have?
