Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Bills beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Finished 1-4 in the last 5 games. Pathetic. Started 2-4 including 0-4 at home. Worst halftime differential in BB playoff history. Multiple worst-ever rushing yards given up games. 5-10 in December since 2019. Something is rotten on BB's staff.

.
Do you think it’s the Offensive Coordinator? I haven’t seen any post about that guy.

Unfortunately none of our star LBs : Hightower, Collins, KVN looks like their old, better version. And I am afraid they won't be more decisive and faster.

While it was ugly to watch . this game changes nothing about the feelings for the future.

I like Pats had the opportunity to play 3 late season games against divisional standard (+ MIA). Much was exposed that needed to be exposed.
This demolition might/should only help the rebuild.. Hopefully that includes some of the staff as well (OL,ST..), and D schemes..

He got faked out of his jock by Allen on one of his runs. The same exact situation came up in the last Bills' game but with a different player. Allen faked like he was going to cut to the middle and that froze the defender and opened up the left side for a big gain.

Speaking of Allen running, is it me or does he favor running to his left?
He just runs and never pays a price. I know he’s big and elusive but he needs to get hit and hit hard.

There was nothing positive about last night's game. Out matched, out played, out coached. I turned the game off.

Lot of promise in this team, but they were nowhere ready to execute on a playoff, let alone championship level. The most disappointing aspect was the defense. They didn't make a single stop. Not one.

Time to retool, refocus and move forward. And while the season ended on an embarrassing note, overall the Patriots did better than expected. It's difficult to say it was a successful season after last night, but, for me, it was. Look forward to a bright future.

Go Pats!

I question the defensive effort last night. Yeah, we night not have the speed nor the pass rush, but c'mon...13 straight drives without a punt over the last two games?

And oh my...if Mac held Hyde with his eyes for quarter of a second longer...it would have been a 7-7 game...it was that close. Great play by Hyde though.

If he keeps running like he has this season he probably will get hit hard. He's one of the few RQBs who has stayed injury free though. Maybe that has to do with his bigger frame.

The team still lacks high end talent and young talent. It relies on excellent coaching and playing mistake free football, which is really pretty difficult to do consistently.

Hightower, Van Noy, Collins have reached the end of the road. The concerning thing about Judon is that he went in the wrong direction and seemed to lose the trust of the coaches. Other free agents signings haven't worked out - Agholor, Godchaux, Smith - and we are saddled with their big contracts next year.

And the coaching has been poor all season - bad penalties, bad starts. This team apparently has four NFL head coach types on its staff - BB, Josh, Patricia and Mayo - and this team was making basic substitute errors all year. Special Teams were terrible and the D fell off a cliff.

The offseason is going to be tough. We don't have the much cap room and some difficult decisions are going to have to be made. It's going to be time to let somme of these veterans go. You can't afford to let JC go for nothing - franchise and trade him if necessary as you need as many draft picks as you can get. Find some front 7 playmakers and a true weapon for Mac.

This is a tough ending to an otherwise good season. Not many would have thought we would have made the playoffs with a rookie qb. I think Mac is definitely our future. Our defense was as bad as I can remember though. We'll need to upgrade our secondary, add a big body in the middle and add more speed to our LB.

This wasn't competitive today....hats off to the Bills, they were the better team. Josh Allen was too good.

This team has some decisions to make....do we bring back Hightower, McCourty, Van Noy, Collins, Bentley, Trent Brown, Karras?

Overall, this was a successful season and we have some young talented players to build with, namely Mac.

Thank you to all who contributed this year in the GDT. On to the offseason.

Let's discuss!!!
Thank you Ashley and all mods!!

Tough ending to the year. I’d like to shoutout @Ian who continues to show patience and commitment to us fans. He doesn’t get nearly enough credit. Thank you for everything.
Agreed Ian!! Awesome job again this year! I know the board crashes but only when we are all having to “mass” complain or grieve because something bad happens in the game or they lose! Thanks for all you do

Look the Bills are totally legit. Josh Allen is a top 3 QB and he played lights out yesterday, they have good playmakers, excellent coaching staff. They are in a better shape as a football organization right now and that didn't start this season, that started a few years ago, gotta give them credit.

A top FIVE defense?!? Statistics lie!!! :)). I do agree it is a horrible embarrassment. First thing we need to do is bring in a great DC…..Stevie is in over his head
I think maybe call Rex Ryan.

I can’t see that happening with him as DC.
I know on the surface it seems ridiculous but this defense needs balls.

I turned the game off.

While understandable, probably not the best idea. There are things you can learn about a team even amidst a blowout.

I got criticism for pointing out every unit of the Bills was better than ours except OL. It turns out I was wrong. Literally every unit is better than ours.

Time to make some tough choices on guys like Hightower, Collins, KVN. I’m tired of the Isiah Wynn and NKeal Harry experiments as well. 2022 might be the actual rebuilding so don’t expect much next year either.

but you know what? Heavy be the crown. I hope the Bills enjoy an off-season of losing coaches and free agents left and right. Here’s to watching them maybe make it to another super bowl and lose.
Could not agree more Hightower Mccourty Collins need to retire. They have been great players but they can’t get it done anymore. Wynn is always injured and soft and is inconsistent/average at best when he does play…..and Harry is the worst bust BB has ever had….what a waste.

Yeah, Bill would love having someone who called his QB a "peashooter" to be leading our D...

But I agree, Steve Belichick has to go. Bring back Flores if he doesn't land a HC gig anywhere

I think They are the most balanced team in the entire league.

Wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the SB with the way they are playing...it seemed like they turned their season around after they were embarrassed by Bill not throwing the ball against them

It was the best idea for me, so I went with it. Ymmv, ofc.

It wasn’t behind him, he didn’t slow down. He could have led him more, but it wasn’t behind him.
If the ball was not behind Agahlor then how did Hyde swoop in and catch it?

The pass was an Alabama rainbow losing power as it neared the WR. But, dont blame Mac. The reason why it was a miraculous INT is because Hyde sped over there to help his CB out and made the play.
