I think bill really wants to win a ring without Brady

For many of us last year, watching Brady raise the Lombardi trophy in bucs red black and white was truly a bittersweet moment, he had done it again but this time on another team. I think Bill saw it and now he wants to match tom on that one and win a ring without him. Something he hasn’t done as a HC yet. Nothing is guaranteed in this league but We’ve gotten back on track after a terrible year by our standards last year and a poor start to this year. Hope we keep up the momentum

I think that if Tom Brady retired instead of going to Tampa he'd want to win just as much.

Also since this is a thread concerning the Bucs QB, shouldn't it be in the Bucs QB forum?

Bill likes coaching and wants to win. He's like Brady THAT GUY in that they stay in the NFL for the mundane reason that they like doing it every day.

When Belichick was being ripped apart by the fans and media during and after last season, I never heard Brady once step in and say "you guys are wrong. He had a huge part in NE's success" (I could be mistaken though). It seemed like he just let Bill take punch after punch while he ws enjoying great success in Tampa. Prior to the Pats and Bucs earlier this year, he had some nice things to say about Bill but only because of their upcoming game. Deep down inside I think the Brady camp feels like they were the reason for NE's success. I don't blame Bill for going all out in FA and drafting Mac to prove otherwise.

I'm not a big believer in reading psychodrama into decisions that make sense without it.

Like, no kidding, the guy who lost a veteran QB drafted a new one and used surplus salary cap space to build around him? You don't say?

Tom is in the NFC; Bill is in the AFC.

They probably won't play in the Super Bowl; they probably won't play head to head for four more years.

Tom is the frontrunner for MVP; Bill is the frontrunner for COTY.

The Bucs can help the Patriots by beating the Bills on Sunday.

It's a fun ride. I wish the Patriots had done more to re-sign Brady, and I would take the player over the coach, but whatever...he isn't coming back. Football is still enjoyable, in fact 2X enjoyable unless you're psychologically unhealthy enough to lose your mind over either one of them succeeding.

I think the more interesting question to ponder is not whether Bill wants to win another ring post Brady. Of course he does. But what would winning a ring with a rookie quarterback do for his career narrative?

When thinking about the other legacy coaches such as Walsh and Knoll, neither one of them won a championship without Montana and Bradshaw respectively. We all agree Bill is one of the greatest coaches, if not the greatest coach of all time but I think winning this year in particular with a rookie quarterback like Mac who is not a flashy or big armed quarterback, would immensely alter Bill's narrative. Much the same way Brady's narrative changed significantly after winning in Tampa Bay in year one away from Bill, if Bill could win this year, his first year with a rookie quarterback then I believe his legacy would be impacted just as much as Brady's was from a coaching standpoint obviously.

It would be a separator for Bill, 20 years after Brady, at age 70 to prove he could win again and do it with a rookie quarterback in a season where his team's expectations were not very high.

Any thread about the Buc QB shouldn't be allowed in this forum, IMO. He is gone. He left on his own accord. He was leaving before his last season with the Pats. Get over him. BB is God, didn't you hear this bring said?

Even just getting to the Super Bowl will be a historic accomplishment. A rookie QB has never done that either.

The first half of that week 16 Miami game in 2015 was just like last night except we had Brady throwing 7 passes, it was good weather as far as I remember and it was the shell of Steven Jackson getting most of the carries. LOL.

Well deserved L for that nonsense.
