OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

We on this thread must be living in a bizarro universe. How could we not see that the MVP race is far from concluded.
These stats are through last nights game. Only Brady and Cousins are top 5 in 6 of the below 7 categories. Cousins is having a solid year if not for his teams record. Stafford and Rodgers come in next with top 5 on 4 of the categories. Prescott is top 5 on 3 categories and #6 on Rating. Murray missing 3 games hurts his chances, even with top Comp% and Rating. Mahomes numbers are not impressive and lol at the mention of Lamar, Burrow, Carr, Herbert, etc. with ratings below 100.

You can obviously pick other categories but I think Brady is top in DVOA as well. To me, Brady is the clear leader with only Stafford with a chance to catch him. Brady has the easier schedule, if he can average about 2 TDs per game against Bills and Saints, he's got this. He'll blow up in the last 3 games (Car x2 + Jete).

One thing that stood out was Brady's Sacks/Att%, which is over a point below Stafford's, the closest one. The average is a whopping 6.3% more than double Brady's rate. Although Brady is #11 in Int/Att at 2.0%, that's actually below the average (2.2%).

Which is why I said if it were close they'd give it to Rodgers or Murray. Brady trounces all of them in stats though and his team keeps winning

"But Brady's throwing a much higher number of interceptions"

Rushing Yards
Bucs - 1111
Packers - 1280

Rushing TDs (non-QB)
Bucs - 11
Packers - 5

Rodgers is projected to have 31 TDs this season. He had 48 last year. That alone should disqualify him from any consideration.

If I have to hear about Murray and mvp I'm going to puke. He missed 3 games and they won 2. He won't be close in any stats. It's not even close to 2016 Brady who could of won it but 28-3d instead.

Well, I have to think that Allen missing the open receiver for what would have been a likely game winning TD will eliminate him from the MVP race.

Whether voters remember that specific play or not, I think he's eliminated anyway. Buffalo is now 7-5 and at Bucs and at Patriots coming up. Allen isn't winning an MVP with 6-7 losses, and his numbers just aren't very good either. Buffalo should be more worried about getting into the playoffs than getting a home game and putting forward an MVP case for their guy. They're in big trouble.

Bills are probably emotionally broken after that. Bucs are gonna beat them down.

Imagine being a Bills fan, and realizing that your entire season may end up having come down to one play, and knowing that the play was your highly touted MVP-level QB ignoring a wide open receiver running right across his face in order to try forcing a pass elsewhere.

On two consecutive plays.

If Buffalo doesn't spend money and/or draft capital on running backs in particular, and the running game in general, this offseason, the GM needs to be fired.

In all fairness to Allen, the wind was carrying the ball laterally throughout the game. I kept on trying to understand what the announcers where talking about PBU? I mean, if he was targeting Beasley that ball went straight to Bryant, not sure if due to miscommunication or the winds.

I don't know. Allen managed to complete 50% of his passes in that nasty ass weather and there were several drops. Tampa's going to look like paradise compared to those conditions. Bucs secondary is trash right now. He may feast. Bills put up 45 on the Jete after the fiasco in Jacksonville and 31 on the Saints after losing bad to the Colts at home. It's going to be a shoot out. Definitely go with the Over in that game.

It’s Brady vs the Bills in Tampa. The game is already won.

Yea, there's that.

He did lose to the Jags in that crazy Florida humidity! He's probably going to have a better showing than tonight! However they're going to have a long day on the other side of the football! I see Brady and company lighting them up like a Christmas tree!

Thing is Tampa is a completely different team at home this year. I feel they're going to completely annihilate the Bills

that might do it for Allen. even if they beat the Bucs next weekend, he would need to light it up and Brady would need to stink it up because of the huge gap in stats now
