Bill Belichick appreciation thread

I love Surly Bill. He does respect some members of the media. He cannot tolerate stupid questions.

It’s 2021, the height of incompetent coaching in the league. And BB is the King.

I always thought that his disdain for pressers were more to do with a waste of his time, if they were not mandated he wouldn't do it. In his mind he has more pressing things to do. One of those silly NFL Rules like that he has to wear NIKE branded gear on the sideline (what would Tom Landry have done??)..

Earlier in the season, I was down on the coaching but in retrospect, I now understand what the staff was attempting to do. A few little things go our way instead of against, we're likely 10-2. Masterful effort by BB and his team.

If you ever get down on Belichick and the Pats coaching, please remember that the following play is by an average or better team in the league.

One coach I don't appreciate quite as much today is Mike Vrabel, the guy's an overly self-assured turd. He dissed BB after the game -- ran by him/acknowledged him but didn't stop to shake hands and kept running to the locker room.

Looking good BB, looking Good. Need the hoodie back though, not down with the Lindaesque jacket he has been wearing lately.

The team absolutely probably has another extra win if the offensive staff didn't muck up the first 6 weeks, particularly OLine

A 2 year turnaround is fantastic. We may not be an elite team but we're a playoff contender again after only one year of being really a noncontender.

He's really done some impressive work as a GM in the last 24 months. as a GM alone Bill is in the upper echelon of league executives. Throw in his incredible accomplishments on the field and there is no way he's not in Canton the moment he asks to be.

I've said this many times before but I have a sneaking suspicion that as the physical toll of being a head coach gets to be too much for him, Bill might kick himself upstairs to be a GM and advisor, and let his son/McD/a younger HC who'll listen to him handle the operations on the field and/or the more physical side of coaching.
We got lucky Jones fell to us. I don't think we'd be doing as well with Lance.

I'm super happy of course!! :)

Oh please. Belichick is extremely overrated, he’s a sub-.500 coach when he doesn’t have Tom Brady, Mac Jones, Matt Cassel, or Jimmy Garoppolo as his QB. Can’t win unless he has a winning QB. Give me Rex Ryan or Jeff Fisher any day of the week.
I love that you threw Fisher in there. How about we toss in some Tony Dungy while we’re at it.

And to add :

Tony Dungy, author of SOOO many disappointments, is a darling (despite the dark side no one cares to explore) and is universally heralded despite his failures and measly ONE SB (I know, one is amazing, but when you speak of all timers….)
Just threw Dungy in there as well and then saw your statement. Great minds and all that.;)

That's belied by the fact that when someone does slip an interesting question in, he's fully capable of going for 20 minutes in answer.

Still wasn't a good decision to kick Brady out. They thought he'd collapse in 2 years time, instead he's leading the league in YPG and TDs. You really want to go there?
I have no doubt at all the Pats would win ring #7 this year if they kept Brady. He's going to win MVP and he is the best QB in football hands down. But what's done is done.

We're good right now of course but how good is still TBD. Beat the Bills next Monday night in their place and then it's time to think we might be watching something special happening here.

BB looking very good here. Where did the grey hoodie go? Ever since they show the picture below to the world, he has started to dress up.

Today he looked really good in the jacket Linda gave him.

There is no one I would rather have coach the Pats than Belichick. Has he made mistakes ? Of course but so has every coach , but to think he could have potential found another really good QB to lead this team for many years is amazing. I will cut him a lot of slack for the amazing job he has done over the last 20 years and seems to be on track to continue it after just one down year .

I don't expect them to win next week but I think if the Pats split home and home with Buffalo and then at least win their last two, that's pretty special.

Oh...yes, I agree but...if they DO somehow pull out a win, heads will explode nationwide as the "HATE NEW ENGLAND!@!! RACISTS!!" media mongoloids like Rob Pecker restart their uber-bigotry with a vengeance..

It absolutely was the best thing. There is 50 mill of cap space on this roster that wouldn’t be there if Brady stayed. Couldn’t have rebuilt with him still here, would have taken at least 3-4 years and then you rebuilt for a 45 year old qb.

No chance because 50 mill of the 68 they spent to rebuilt half the roster would not have been available.
This team surrounding Mac doesn’t resemble what would be surrounding Brady.
