If OBJ is released by the Browns and is unclaimed, do you want him in NE on the cheap? (Update: Signed by Rams)

So a writer from the Herald says the Pats are out and then Howe says they're still in. Wonder who to believe here?
The Herald writer who said the Pats were out had just retweeted Diana Russini’s tweet with a headline summarizing and editorializing it. Based on how he phrased it, I took it that he thought the Pats were out based on her tweet, rather than some legwork that he did.

But maybe I’m wrong. But he should certainly improve how frames whatever he says, regardless of what he was trying to convey.

Here is that tweet again for context.

I heard its 3 teams and one is not the pats. Would not be a good fit for either side.

I agree with that until the statement of “They’re out.” That seems pretty definitive to me and you’d like to think he’s stating that with some inside knowledge rather than just speculating (without saying so) based on another reporter’s tweet.

If I'm OBJ, I'd pick KC and not think twice about it.

Because I love BBQ. And in Andy Reid I'd have my own personal Obi-Wan Kenobi of barbecue.

**** this, I have refreshed so much I have developed calluses on my finger.

If you were OBJ, its all about building his profile back as quickly and to the the greatest degree possible.
Best way to do that is with a team going deep into the playoffs, possibly the SB with a QB who will deliver the ball to him reliably and frequently.

So the Packers and Chiefs make the most sense.
I think Packers is his best choice, because of their record and relatively limited experienced high profile receivers (other than Adams).

And given the standards we’ve seen in journalism and sports journalism specifically nowadays, I don’t share that same confidence you do. I think he’s saying ”they’re out” entirely in response to her tweet. Otherwise it would be very simple to add “per source” right before that.

Again, not trying to say the Patriots aren’t out. I’m saying I’m skeptical that he specifically got that information; I think he’s editorializing Dianna Russini’s tweet. So in my mind it’s Russini versus Howe, not Callahan versus Howe, unless Callahan clarifies further.

Howe by far
The funny thing is, that the "Herald Writer" (Andrew Callahan) was actually using Jeff Howe as his source, so yeah, I would go with Howe on this one.

Who is this guy? He’s been writing a novel full of “stories” about OBJ/Patriots all day. At least they’re entertaining.

If it's true, at least he's showing some interest in NE. But seriously, this dude needs to make a decision. He's had a while to think about where he's going to play.

Didn’t you read his credentials on his site? He’s an International Insider. Can’t be more plugged in than that!

A writer using a writer for a source.

Good lord.

Cam said: Great place, it takes them a year to figure out you suck and even then they give you some cash for the second year before they cut you.

Man, it happens way too much.

My town’s school committee is debating closing a school which the superintendent supports. Superintendent writes a report where it states, “Per XYZ building contractor, it will cost $3m to repair the current school building.“ XYZ building contractor’s report is also included in the documentation, and it states: “The superintendent told us a previous analysis indicated it may cost up to $3m to repair the current school building.” Sigh…….
