This team isnt that bad

Josh and Mac weren't arguing. Mac was upset at one point about not getting the play on time or was confused about something that Josh said in the headset. It didn't rise to the level of Brady and BOB against Washington in 2011 or Brady and McD in 2019. Also, I didn't see anything that would indicate Mac had bad sideline demeanor yesterday.

Romo was saying Mac was pissed because he was making the adjustments at the LOS but McD called a TO instead. There were a handful of times where the plays were called in late and Mac had to rush it or in that critical moment in the 4th get a delay of game. McD was probably looking for the right screen to call.

So, I guess the question is....McDaniels has been here forever. Through superbowls etc....now all of the sudden, he is an issue?

I agree, to me the defense is good enough to win most games, its the offensive line thats holding this team back. If the O-line was what it was advertised to be (a top 5) the defense wouldn't be on the field to get worn down like it did yesterday.

Yup, the OL has been the biggest disappointment for me so far, simply because it was supposed to be THE strength of the team. Some of it is injuries and continuity though, and I do think (outside of a couple of quick pressures like the one Mac almost died on), it played well against Dallas. Hopefully that's one area where we can improve if we can just get the same five guys out there for a few weeks in a row.

The tight ends haven't been bad, but I think we can get more out of them too. One thing to keep in mind with them is that Mac Jones at Alabama was primarily throwing to wide receivers (and for good reason with that crew). Utilizing tight ends, both at the NFL level and in general, is something he's learning to do. We're seeing some good progress with Henry, just need to figure out Jonnu's role and get Mac more comfortable with it.

Defense has pretty much held serve through six weeks. They're not the reason we're 2-4, but they're not gonna carry us like a 2015 Denver defense carried that team. A lotta yards against Dallas, but held them to 22 points in regulation, which is respectable. We need someone to step up and start making the big plays in key moments. 3rd and 25 in the 4th was that spot last night. Gotta make those plays when you get a chance to bury a team.

Tell us about the game:

1. Where there that many boys fans there like it sounded on tv?

2. At one point Mac and Josh seemed to be arguing. What was that all about?

3. Mac's sideline demeanor isn't a good look. Were you close enough to see the sideline?

4. What was the feeling of the crowd after running out the clock at the half?

Mac is a super smart QB, so I'm sure he's already realized by now his oc is a dumba-s who rode Brady's coat tails.

.

Look at McD's offenses in Denver, St. Louis, last year with us, and the first 6 games this year. All without Brady and look at where his offenses are ranked. All bottom tier offenses.

I would say, they aren’t good, but certainly trending in that direction. It’s not gonna happen this year. They need to shore up the Oline, and need ONE game breaker in the offense to help Mac. Hopefully happens next year. Defensively, they could use serious help in the secondary.

Right....so why was nobody *****ing about McDaniels when Brady was here and we were winning? But now its his fault?

Yeah, thats quite a few big money needs. You woudl think 160 mil would have covered some of that in the offseason. Problem is, there is not much money left. Its weird that we used to get receivers off the trash heap and win, but now we need an all star cast. They spent 80 mil on two TE's and 2 receivers. If that is not enough, then either the wrong players were picked, or maybe the QB needs to just be better at using the weapons.

LOL. Best 2-4 team, you've seen? Do you also believe in participation awards? Should the Patriots hang up an AFC East "Runner UP" flag like the Colts?

Let's face reality, we're 2-4 because we deserve that record. A close loss is still a loss. And the sad thing is that conservative, gutless calls is what put us exactly where we are today. Mac Jones was on fire against Tampa Bay, moving the offense at will, but rather than allowing him to go for it on 4th and short, BB opts for a 56 yard field goal in the RAIN. Inexcusable. In a game that went to OT, with 90 seconds remaining in the 1st half against the Cowboys where Mac had to that point completed 100% of his passes, BB instructed his QB to kneel down instead of running the 2 minute drill. That decision also cost us the game.

We're 2-4 in part to decisions like this, in part to the fact that overall this team is less talented than the 2010s Patriots, only BB doesn't seem to get that yet. We are where we are supposed to be, our players play like our coaches tell them to play. And the end result is we're losers. Sub .500 and poised to miss the playoffs in consecutive seasons. The EXCUSES need to STOP and the Coaches and Players need to look in the mirror and ask themselves Honestly, what can we do Better? Until that happens, the Losing is just gonna keep going.

Blindly defending BB isn't going to make this team any better. When he makes mistakes, put his feet to the fire. Humans don't learn nearly as much from success as they do from PAIN. Kissing the emperor's ass when he has no clothes ain't gonna lead to this team winning more, EVER.
His feet should be held to the fire.

He's been heavily criticized.

But he's previous 20 years was brilliant.

So while he deserves heat, I don't think he should be in jeopardy to lose his coaching or GM duties.

The Jets game coming up will conclude a relatively easy schedule. They should be 3-4 after next week.

The schedule gets much tougher. More road games and better competition. I am not much into moral victories which people seem to be fans of on here.

Right now this team is 2-4 and just because they were in a couple games towards the end doesn't mean they're good. Good teams win games and not so good teams find a way to lose games which is what's happening with the Patriots.

Just as odd as you consistently ripping the former QB to shreds and arguing with your fellow fans.

I'm a Chiefs fan and I'm more positive about the Pats than you are.

Well, whatever. It's like me going on a Chiefs board and being positive about a conference rival...

LOL. You just answered your own question. Brady and winning.

Well I respect the Patriots and wanted to see what another board is like. That one is toxic.

Plus, I'd like a Chiefs/Patriots rivalry to develop for the next 15 years. Mahomes vs Mac. Bill (For a few years) vs Reid (For a few years).

Sounds contradictory to say but it's the truth.

Brady is no longer in NE. So McDaniels faults are being exposed. Just like his tenure in Denver & St. Louis.

Other OC's have been able to have success without elite QB's.

McDaniels hasn't proven he can..yet.

You do realize that game breakers could be found in the draft right ? If Belichick didn’t **** up the 2019 draft, we could’ve had Mecole Hardman and DK Metcalf in the 2nd round. Just think how different this offense would’ve been if we had some great speedsters like those guys. Maybe Brady doesn’t throw a hissy fit due to lack of weapons in 2019. Good offensive lineman can be found in the draft as well. I believe Owenwu made the all rookie team last year.

As far as using the weapons better, Very tough to pass when being harassed all the time due to a ****ty Oline. Even with the line issues, Mac is 8th in the NFL in completions and 4th in completion percentage. I’d say he’s doing a fine job.

This set of players esp the new ones arent used to winning here in NE. The longer the losses pile up , the quicker they will start to show disinterest. They needed a win yesterday to keep the spark alive i felt.

He would fit right in over at Chiefs Planet. No real knowledge about the team or the game in general and just on the board to (poorly) troll and make stupid comments.
