Is it just me or was the OL better with the reserves on the field?

I think we've got some starters that need to look over their shoulder. I noticed some really good work by Cajuste among others. With the poor showing we got in the first 4 games from the OL nobody should feel too safe if the reserves start stringing some strong games together.

They played much better than I expected for how many of them had to play. I don't know if they're unseating any starters, but with Brown out for three games minimum and Wynn's status against Dallas in question, it was encouraging that both backup tackles looked like NFL players in this one.

Maybe Herron is a lt and not a rt

I’ll echo earlier posters : the opponent was the Texans. But they had effort and success. And with limited preparation, it was an impressive display.

Considering the opponent it’s hard to jump to conclusions one way or the other. But they definitely looked better than they did and Mac wasn’t fazed by it.

They couldn’t run until the second half. They are on par with the starters though.

Doesn't matter if it was the Texans. The freaking Jets were tearing through our starters

I think Jets defense is pretty decent but it was nice to see:

The Jets, Saints, and Bucs all have outstanding defensive fronts.

They didn’t run very well behind the starters last week. So taking a half to get it going is an improvement.

I saw that the splits were tighter so they were making a pocket for Jones, but that will limit in getting to the perimeter.

I’ll echo the sentiments of others where I was expecting a bleep show but it was the oline’s best performance of the year

how much was due to good performance vs their opponent sucking? I don’t know

For this game yes

It was a step in the right direction. If nothing else it should make the starters begin to sweat a little bit. If Cajuste can play this we'll going forward I'd day you pit Wynn and Brown against each other for the LT position.

God, I am glad that they played well today! If they played as bad as I was expecting...the Pats wuld be 1-4 right now....the D and everyone else let them down except for maybe Judon, Mac, and Folk....

Yes, but given the competition, it wasn't super impressive.

But the protection today was good.
