OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Belichick or someone in his camp may or may not have dropped Brady’s name in relation to BALCO in the upcoming book.
Not buying that. Sure BB holds grudges but he’s not stupid enough to do something like that. It’s not hard to see why.

And if that was the case a bombshell like that would be leaked already.

What book is being referenced?

It's Wickersham. Nothing to lose sleep over from his rehash of literally every news story our local media covered ad nauseam. He just repackages with his "unnamed sources." It wouldn't surprise me if he is paying those who received advanced copies to try and goose the market. I mean there is a reason he is releasing it during the season and not the off-season. It's a nothing burger that will get buried in all the games cycles.

The more juicy the BS the better. Nothing like a pissed off Brady.

Tom Brady’s thrown 60 TDs in 23 games with the Bucs (includes playoffs). Really highlights the idiocy of local lamenting in 2018 and ‘19 that he was cooked, don’t it?

Replying to @tomecurran Brady actually only played 22 games with the Bucs. 20 last year [with playoffs] 2 more this season.

I’m having a bad day with accuracy.

That is my expectation too. Anything better is a bonus. Playoffs or not I think if Mac shows that he is the guy - and it's still very possible that he is not - then if all goes well a year from now I think we can feel really good about where our team is at and I think we can contend again. And who knows maybe Bill's prospects to win #7 with us will look a lot brighter than they do now.
Mac is the guy. The question is who will be the best QB of the 2021 draft. Right now it is Mac and I believe that at the end of the day, it will still be Mac.

Lawrence and Wilson are being ruined by playing for terrible teams. I don't understand why teams rush their QBs to start when the QBs either aren't ready or the team aren't able to protect them.

If you’re a Packers fan, Aaron Rodgers is like a girlfriend who talks so much ****, gets into conflicts with everyone and acts like a total ***** all the time. You just defend her in the most minimal way possible and nod your head like you agree, hoping some angry sex might come your way, while updating your dating app profile.

The guy who reportedly wanted his team’s G.M. to be fired apparently wants some media members to lose their jobs, too.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who seems to be using his weekly visits with Pat McAfee for a Festivus-style airing of grievances, sounded off on Tuesday about those who dared to question whether his off-field drama or sideline demeanor may have contributed to his team’s jarring 38-3 season-opening loss to the Saints.

“It’s absolute horseshit to give a platform to people who have no idea what they’re talking about as far as my mental state and, you know, my focus, my work habits. People that have not been around me, that are not in my life, I don’t have communication with them, are not in the locker room,” Rodgers told McAfee and former teammate A.J. Hawk. “That’s just chickenshit. It’s so ridiculous that people get a platform to do this, and it’s the same type of people.”

This is hilarious. He is like some of the fans I read on twitter, and that is not a good thing.

But the Packers are winning the SB.

There is no way to tell what Mac is. He was placed in a very safe enviroment and not asked to do very much yet. When he is asked to do a lot more, when he is asked to win the game, when he is asked to be good anyway when his receivers left in free agency, how high is his ceiling. Way too many questions left to answer. Is he injury prone, how is his mental games when things go pieces. Does he get the jutters when a constant pass rush is coming and he has no choice but to pass.

I find him so annoying, he couldn't wait to throw a no look pass last season just so he could tell everyone Mahomes wasn't the 1st to do it and that other qb's do similar things. Just like he couldn't wait to pound his chest after the game last night, he's so salty and petty...

Aaron will be a lot happier when he re-balances his vanity rat... I mean passer rating.

AB on the Covid list. Presumably he’s vaccinated because the team is supposed to be at 100% so he will be in a short term protocol but that still might mean he’s out against the Rams which certainly isn’t ideal. Scottie Miller gonna have to step up.

Of course it's before the toughest game on their schedule.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't clear it in time.

The Rams have struggled to cover tight ends, so I'm guessing we'll see a heavy dose of Gronk-Brate-Howard. But it's bad timing, in particular, because I expect Ramsey can shut down either Evans or Godwin, so this was one game where having all three elite WRs is more essential.

Honestly, Brady has a great connection with Miller. Not really worried either way.

I agree that rushing a QB isn't a wise choice, but I don't agree with the ruining narrative.

Look at Peyton Manning, he was terrible his few years throwing tons of Ints. He was not ready, but he turned it around.

Great QBs will be great QBs, coaching can and does have some impact. Great players tend to shine despite coaching, average players need great coaching to shine

I can't blame Rodgers for wanting a high passer rating and great statistics.

Players, from the average fan perspective, are primarily praised by their stats.

It's why Richard Seymour isn't the HOF. His impact on the 03-04 defenses were just as much as Donald on the Rams or JJ Watt on the Texans. But because he didn't get the flashy sack numbers he gets grossly overlooked.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter how great you are, you need the stats to get recognized, so how can you fault any player for wanting that recognition?

Tyler Johnson as well they'll be fine
This could also very well be the week the Bucs activate & unleash rookie Jaelon Darden for the first time this season! They're so loaded at receiver it's not even funny!
