Mac or Zach?

I thought sanchnoldson looked like he always had.

You can have all the upside in the world, if you start out your career getting absolutely shelled you might be done before long.

It is still way too early, but Wilson was always considered a boom or bust prospect. He has a lot of raw talent, but he only played great one year and it was against mediocre competition. There is always a chance he could be a complete bust. He may not be able to rise to the talent level against him.

I held out from this discussion until more information came in. I think I have an answer now

Wilson was drafted by the worst franchise in pro sports.

Mac was drafted by the best franchise in pro sports.

I don't think it's a matter of talent because both have it. Ultimately he's got his work cut out for him with a team that's going on 11 years without seeing the postseason.

That franchise is just awful. Teams have 2-3 bad years. But they are embarassing.

Here are the flaws with Wilson and what I don't see with Jones:

2. While the same size as Mac, he plays small. Watch some highlights from his BYU days.
3. Wilson has a stronger arm than Jones, but he's not as accurate.
4. Wilson needs to use bootlegs and RPOs to be able to bide time and to be able to function. Those aren't one-offs either, it's part of his pattern of play.

And, I am sorry, but the quality of competition is not remotely comparable. The Trey Lance hype is as confusing as the Zach Pretty Boy Wilson hype, IMO. It's a bizarre world we live in where people just repeat things they've seen or heard on social media, and just latch on, without really doing any research.

I like the way Wilson moves out of the pocket and I like his arm, he's in a bad situation though and it's starting showing

Could you imagine if Darnold has a decent career with the Panthers and Wilson ends up being a bust?

Wilson still looks like he hasn’t hit puberty yet. I think his hot mom picked him up in front of the stadium after the game.

We all knew Mac was more NFL ready and tbh it wasn’t even close today. Wilson did show some armstrength today though. Our secondary felt the power with every interception they caught.

Well, I'd say my analysis was pretty solid. He thinks he can get by with the arm and legs, but it won't be enough. Sure, he's a rookie, but who didn't see this coming? Expect him to have problems developing because he didn't have to or want to stand in the pocket and go through his progressions. If you're not used to doing that, you're not going to succeed at the NFL level.

He's not 6'3 either. They're fudging his height.

Don't be so afraid next time. Have confidence in your eyes.

Sometimes these things happen. Tanneyhill in Tennessee for example. Was very Darnold like in Miami, now he’s a decent to good QB. Same with Darnold, now in a good situation. Too early to call Wilson a bust. I believe Lawrence is 0-2 and has 5 INTs as well.
