OT: Has Aaron Rodgers Quit on GB?

Did you watch the game and see his play/expressions throughout? I mean the guy often looks kind of aloof as his general demeanor but he was completely uninterested. He had no compete at all, no fire. His interview after the game was even worse.

I do expect him/them to bounce back vs Detroit as it they don't then things are really going to heat up. But they have San Fran and Pitt after Detroit. I do think we know more in the next few weeks about whether he really wants to win this year or just mail in it and retire.
Rodgers will be in LA soon. Maybe he can buy Brady's old mansion they never moved into with the moat around it.

I think people are disagreeing about 2 things here, with regards to Rodgers:

1: What word should be used to explain this past week's performance?
2: Informed by what each individual thought they saw in week one, what's the thought each individual has on how Rodgers will play moving forward.

So I'll answer those questions this way, my opinion only:

1: Unprepared. He was unprepared mentally, physically, and emotionally. He needs to get his head on straight, focus in practice, and work on his throwing/timing

2: He'll get better in a hurry, and by "in a hurry", I mean this week. And, after that, he's probably in for a roller coaster of a season, as the Packers' schedule is set up that way, and Rodgers' mind tends to check out when he's not happy.

From Vito "Babe" Parilli
I used to get into it with "Babe" quite a bit over at the old BDC site. Babe hated BB and Rusty hated TB and they would hijack almost every thread. I remember there were a few times that their arguing could to kill some time during slack football news periods. But after awhile it was like reading two people on the verge of divorce arguing the same crap over and over again. I'm just a Patriot fan and got tired of reading how bad BB was and how bad TB was along with millennial BS and all the rest of the biching and complaining. No mas!!!!! LOL

They were unbearable. Both thought they were smart but neither could explain anything pertaining to the game or give any useful insight. They came across as casual pats fans who started late. Real fans aren't picking sides like we're in gym class.

Yeah I might just need a break from this place. It's getting old.

Oh look, another why Brady left thread and how he sucks now that he's not a Patriot. Why can't we just be glad for what he did in his 20 years as a patriot. The fact that the BB and Brady relationship lasted as long as it did, and how instrumental they were to each others career and root for Pats over Bucs in the SB?

It's not that thread at all just one poster hijacked it and he has been made fun of at every turn. Seems he had multiple accounts.

Yeah, someone tried to turn an Aaron Rodgers thread into a Tom Brady thread. Then I made a comment about a couple of guys who used to hijack every Thread on the old BDC Site by turning them into BB vs. TB Threads.

FWIW, as a Patriot fan for over 50 years and counting, I'll always be grateful to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick for what they've contributed to the Team. The memories of what they did will hopefully be with me for as long as I live.

After a pause for the Patriots in 2020 which was a shtty year all around, I'm ready to move on with Mac Jones who looks like the real deal. Whether lightening strikes twice with another great QB on the Patriots remain to be seen. But at least now, I have reason to hope. . .

Green Bay’s O-Line was picked apart in offseason free agency then sustained injuries entering the season. As much as people want to believe QB’s are magical and play in a vacuum… they don’t.

Having an olineis better for some than others. Obviously you want to have a good line, but some QB's are better at getting rid of the ball faster. Then you have some that begin to run around in the first 2 seconds. I watched the game last week. Oline was not his issue, bad decisions, bad throws was. He had plenty of time when he rocketed the ball 20 yards over his receivers head to the defender.

He also skipped most of camp, but losing his center to free agency and his LT to injury hurts.

Yeah they're in bad shape at OT until/unless Bakhtiari returns, though I do like Yoshi Nijman's athletic potential...

At C/G, Elgton Jenkins is excellent, and Jon Runyan Jr (#192 last year) is a versatile, athletic, try-hard dude with size & length limitations... Fellow 6th-rounder last year Jake Hanson (#208) is even more limited... Lucas Patrick's a JAG.
The other two are rookies; and one of them, Josh Meyers, was a surprise pick when considering that the superior prospect, Creed Humphrey, was still available, soon to be gifted to the KC Queefs... Kinda like how Bill foolishly chose Billy Sherman instead of the far superior Trey Smith, who was soon gifted to...the KC Queefs...

Rodgers plays like sh*t and the narrative pushed forth is that he's actually doing it ON PURPOSE/GIVING UP? Nah. This was some forced narrative that began Sunday on Twitter & reddit by his army of apologists who always have excuses for him.

IMO, yes. He's taken the Brady Diva lead very well this offseason with the passive-aggressive behavior, for attention and an attempt at control.

The guy makes 36 mil per year, just got married and acts like a teenager loose on social media. It's pretty embarrassing and absolutely ridiculous to watch a guy like that play the victim game in that position, especially with all the bad stuff going on in the world. We have people dying left and right and front line workers sacrificing so much, and we have to watch these divas like this? It's repulsive, but Brady started this and now you have a lot of QBs in the league feeling emboldened. Russell Wilson is another.

I am just glad we dealt with our issue and flipped the switch, because I can see this happening in Pitt next with Ben. There's a lot more to that position that posting fantasy stats in an easier offensive era.
I think people just can't admit the antics Brady was showing prior to 2019. He all but enabled the Amendolas, Dion Lewises, Gronk, They all were on social media running their mouths. It was very unusual. Throw in Brady showing up teammates early in 2018's season and it was clear he wasn't happy. Ironically, all these players were either not wanted, oft injured, etc, and BB brought them in, coached em up and they worked hard, and they became millionaires. If all these guys were so great, why weren't they great elsewhere? I mean, Gronk missed his whole senior year and his early carerr in NE was in jeopardy due to his immaturity. BB got the best out of him, too. These players aren't robots who just appear out of a pod to make coaches look good.

Heck, even McDaniels looked he was done with him and I would have never thought that 5 years ago.

Brady wanted to play his whole career in NE on his own terms, which meant a contract "until 45". It's why he kept saying it ad nauseum in almost every interview he did. It was passive-aggressive behavior at its finest. I kept asking "why does he keep saying '45' over and over"? It's because he wanted the money. I was thinking "just cross that bridge when it comes like Ortiz was doing for the Red Sox". You know, like 2 year deals. Seemed more than reasonable.

Amendola on Twitter saying he was "free!" and Gronk doing his bit. How do people forget this stuff anyway?

What's sad is Brady aligned with them, where in years past like if a Ty Law or Samuel or someone else didn't like how BB needed to move on, Brady never said a word publicly about any of that stuff.

I think drafting Garoppolo pissed Brady off and the same deal with GB drafting Jordan Love for Rodgers. It's literally the same pattern tied to some idea that Rodgers isn't supported by their GM. Last time I checked, loading up on weapons around Rodgers and having a horrendous D for a decade, while being paid as much as he has, is why the Packers have failed. BB never let Brady down as a GM, but Ted Thompson and Mickey Loomis in NOs certainly let Brees down until very recently in 2018 when NOs finally improved on D, almost a decade after Brees's only SB appearance. I would argue Polian let Manning own in Indy for 10+ years unable to field a good defense. They sucked. Seattle, same thing. Schneider has been terrible of late and it started paying both Earl Thomas and Chancellor at the same time to peak money. It all matters and no GM in Cap Era history has done more to support his All Pro and HOF QB like BB has for Brady. After the Garoppolo draft pick, Brady certainly hunkered down and reacted the right way, so it worked. He didn't pout, he realized he had to improve from his subpar postseason play where he looked mediocre after changing how he played. BB worked with Garoppolo daily right in front of Brady. The only other guy to get that treatment was Brady himself in front of Bledsoe, so he knew what it meant. It worked. Brady used less shotgun, they ran more, used a FB again, etc. 2nd Dynasty formed.

Brady probably though he did his part improving in the postseason, looking like the pre-Giselle Brady he used to be where he was just outstanding in the postseason, and he absolutely did, but there was clearly some push and pull going on behind the scenes way before 2019.

The pushing of his brand, which is just completely obnoxious is like Brady trying to copy MeBron James. I don't like that at all and I don't like the obsession with Brady desperately trying to show he's great. We get it, dude. You are great. Act like an adult instead of scorned teenager.
What a couple of absurd, clown-show posts. You sound just as irrational as the NFL fans who'd bash Brady when he was on the Patriots for the last 20 years, or when he was slandered over deflategate.

Your basis for claiming Brady was a "diva" and "antics" are, in summary:
  • Brady interviews where he expresses his desire to play until age 45
  • Interview quotes or tweets from Danny Amendola, Dion Lewis and Gronk dissing the Patriots, which you egregiously imply Brady had something to do with
The stupidity speaks for itself. Then you get into the personal offense that you, personally, take to Brady having his own brand. Having your own brand = copying LeBron James? What?????????????????????

I don't like the obsession with Brady desperately trying to show he's great. We get it, dude. You are great. Act like an adult instead of scorned teenager.
I'll let this stupidity speak for itself as well. My God...
