Cam Newton Interview: "I was bamboozled"

That’s unfortunate Cam

PFT has an interesting take as they mention that its been 10 days sine Cam's release and that he's hearing nothing but crickets from other NFL teams. Comments are pretty much against him ever finding another NFL QB job as his aura is too overwhelming.
There is bound to be a starting QB who misses significant time due to injury.

Cams phone will ring.

No one else wanted him in 2020. No one else wanted him in 2021. No one else wanted him when he was cut.
No one is going to want him if their starter is injured.
He stinks. All of the other 31 teams knew it and belichick was the last one needing convincing and he’s there now.

Cam was cut because he's awful as a starting QB and could/would not be a backup.
The interview said he was willing to be a backup but it wasn't offered to him, which he understood because of his aura, or somesuch.

Depends. If some team loses a QB or two to injury, Cam might get a call.
Cam would need to be in the protocol for five days before he could set foot in a team facility, which kinda limits one's opportunities.

Instead of getting ready to play in an NFL game this week, this dude is posting videos on Youtube dress like a women making excuses
Every teenager thinks they can support their lifestyle by being a U2Ber, why not Cam?

Using the mic is not as hard as figuring out who the Mike is, he should be good to go.

How many times do I need to go over this?

Cam wanted to start and play. Not be a backup. His only choice was NE.

My favorite part was him trying to count the number of months from April to September and getting it wrong like 3x lol
To be fair, on other teams, the Center counts the months.
I'm sure many of us would get tongue tied on TV, so I'm not going to make fun of him for that.

....But mike_usagisan....that part about how the Center counts the months on other teams.....that was one of the funnier posts I've seen lately :)

Evidently a few more before you get it. In his own words he would have stayed as a backup. No one else showed interest in him as a starter or backup and today, after announcing he would be willing to be a backup his phone has not rung. Not once.

Would have been more bamboozled if the team kept him after the s#!t show he put on last year. And don't give me he didn't have time in the system, and he got covid. What was on the field last year was not an NFL QB.

And if you think it was gonna magically be better this year, I have some wonderful real estate in New Minden, Illinois I would like to sell you.

Cam paints himself in a poor light: if the man gets jabbed twice like billions of other people including the vast majority of players and coaches surrounding him, then the whole protocol thing disappears and him and his lisfranc get to keep fighting for the job instead of watching for five crucial days. Yet more poor decision making and leadership for Cam. Now he's on the outside looking in, he can't even visit a NFL team without being on the protocol for five days. At least he has a social media career to fall back on, lol.

Agree Cam's career is screwed. Worst mistake ever was going to NE (not that he had any options), and then have an OC who never called any play action or passing plays last year in the red zone, he ran for 12 TDs and scored 20 total TDs with a crap supporting cast, zero credit for the rushing TDs while the running messed up his shoulder and foot with all the hits. And the dirty sneaky sleazy media and organizational rumors about him not being able to run no-huddle or 2-minute or know the playbook. Cam is well liked among league players so this absolutely just confirms league perceptions about Boston. But whatever, Mac is here so it's not like the Pats need a QB for the foreseeable future.

Cam should be praised. He will go down in Patriots history as famously as Mo Lewis. If he scored the touchdown against Seattle and didn't drop the ball against Buffalo or get COVID and missing a game and being worse afterwards - the Patriots would not have been able to draft MAC JONES. Thank you Cam for 7-9 ! (MIKE DROP !)

cam is such an arrogant mentally slow chump.

there is a reason he's on the curb, and Mac is starting.

For all I know this could have been a nefarious plot, but that doesn't really sound like BB, he isn't exactly known as somebody who is constantly "working the media"

Agree 100%. It's not Belichick. Smells something rotten inside the Patriots organization, not Belichick. A lot of garbage toxic rumors like "players doubt Cam", "Cam didn't know the playbook, Mac had to teach him", "staff livid he missed 5 days", this is not emblematic of the championship type of teams or organization they've operated in the past. It's more like the crap toxic Red Sox organizations pre-2004 that would always diss a player on their way out of town, or manufacture all sorts of trash. I don't think highly of the "reporters" in Boston but at the same time I don't think they're all using made-up sources. There are some sleazy sources inside Foxborough and it isn't BB obviously.
