Longtime AUDACY Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON personality GLENN ORDWAY is retiring from the station's afternoon show after 34 years with the station. ORDWAY, most recently co-host with CHRISTIAN FAURIA and LOU MERLONI and the host of "THE BIG SHOW" for many years on WEEI, will remain with the station hosting WEEI's unofficial PATRIOTS post-game show and developing a podcast.

20 years too late

Agreed. I am sure he is not retiring. He is great at talking about the simplest of things as though they are significant, and cutting people off with an urgent interjection about nothing. How he lasted this long I have no idea.

I like Glenn for the most part.
His time with The Rev and Stevie Beach Ball was bad, but now I think he is far better than trolling Felgy

I wish Ordway well with his upcoming phased retirement. He's been a part of Boston sports for a long time, and I hope he enjoys his new life.

As for the show, they're going to need to find someone with enough skill to keep Fauria under control. He's already clownish. If they don't get someone who can slap him down, that show will go down the hopper in weeks.

I always respected Glenn Ordway for the way he looked after Johnny Most.

During the Bird years I would go on those sports packages to other cities and we'd stay at the same hotel as everyone. Ordway went well beyond what anyone would expect to help Most, who was extremely immobile, and maybe not on the ball.

His kindness with Most said a lot, even though it probably wasn't to his benefit career wise.

I will miss ordway when he hangs it up at the end of the summer... Glad he got to go out on his own terms this time (his words this afternoon) ... always felt he got the shaft when they ****canned him a few years back...

I'm probably in the minority but I enjoyed Glenn, Fred, DeOssie and Felger on the show early in the dynasty during the season. The whiner line got stale and the same callers got old. But the long drive home was enjoyable usually when they were on. I also liked Gresh and Zo better in that slot than today. Not a good judge of talent.

I liked him. Sometimes I think I may be too simple for some people. Don’t know what else people want in a radio personality. I thought he did his job well.

Always struck me as a nice guy. As cringe boomer dork as they come but seemed to do a good job securing his career which is a skill itself.

So, what, he's changing his sleeping schedule to 12pm - 8pm?

Now if they also retire Hill, Wiggins, Fauria, Meloni, Gresh, Keefe, and Mut and replace them with actual talent...then WEEI might not go country after all.

Ordway was good. A bit of a dork but not bad to listen to. Seems like a good guy so I hope he enjoys his retirement.

Ambivalent about Ordway, sometimes good sometimes less so.. without regard he has been around for quite a while and complimented Johnny Most well...

His apex was when the Pats came into prominence and he shared the mike with DeOssie and Smerlas.. after going through so many "almost" years, they helped fans begin to understand BB and the complexities of the NFL..

Recently listen once and a while, really dislike Felger, but Lou Merloni talking about Football was painful.

Glad to see you are walking away Glen, should have done it 10 years ago.. he is 70 now and time is passing quickly.

And?!?!?!?!

Lou should stick to what he knows which is …umm…..uhhh….yeah….uhhh….

Wiggins is....damn. His hero worship of Belichick is embarrassing.
