Rex Burkhead signs with Houston Texans

Thanks Rex for the Super Bowl year. Good luck with your new team!

He gave a nice change of pace, fresh legs burst to the offense, especially late in games. One of my favorites!

A little fragile but did well in his role. Made some big plays for us.

For those last 3 runs vs KC in the championship game I will always thank him. Ran hard on all 3 plays. Second effort got him near the 1 on first down, made the next play much easier.

Our rb position is pretty full, especially after we drafted Stevenson, so not too much of a shocker. Wish him the best of luck!!

A bit disappointed. We don’t have a guy on the roster with that type of change of pace, explosive ability. White is sometimes that guy in the passing game, perhaps JJ is all of that and we haven’t had a chance to fully see it yet? Either way, was hoping he’d be a shadow roster guy who’d come back when healthy.

Underrated player from the 6th SB run, wish him well. So clutch.

To be honest, I was expecting a retirement announcement. Most players take a year+ to come back from a major knee injury like the one Burkhead had.

Availability is second only to talent/ability on the list of needs for a professional athlete. It is, in many cases, the number one need. Burkhead never played a full season in New England, and he missed 23 games in 4 seasons with the team, or an average of almost 6 games a season. And that's where he fell short.

Very true. But thats a shame, because when he played, he always produced.

Best of luck to IRex. Clutch performance in 2018 playoffs and good when on the field.

I’m gonna miss Rex, a true champion. He did everything for the Pats. Running, receiving, special teams, did it all.

Given that it's the Texans, he might well be. . . .
