Did he actually retire or was it that the last draft was his last draft? Keep in mind the draft is one of the first events of the season, not the very last.

Just like coach Scar I think he'll be involved part time, and available for advice/input on players advanced scouting or whatever the hell Ernie does.

Not true. He also knows how to make bank on Wall Street. Secret is, he’s been retired since he left his job as a quant trader and the Pats have been his retirement hobby all along. This “retirement” talk around the draft is just to clear the decks for younger blood.

Patricia taking over Adam’s role makes perfect sense, he’s really bright and Belichick has used him in a number of roles, as he does most of his assistants and staff. He could be much better off in research roles.
