Falcons open to trading the number 4 pick.

How about Vernon Gholston? Check out this scouting report on him, particularly the intelligence/character section. Jets took him anyway. What a pick he turned out to be.

His muscular frame and dominating Jake Long was his claim to fame.

golston - so glad the Jets jumped all over that guy!

maybe the Jets can take fields at number 2, so we can all see Ohio state hype torture the Jets again!

#3 and #4 don’t need QBs so their trade down says nothing about QBs. #12 paid a kings ransom to move up to 3 to get....a QB
You gave it exactly backwards.

The Dolphins, Falcons, and Eagles could all use a franchise QB. None of those teams would pass on Lawrence and trade down given the choice. They all traded down because they did not think there is a franchise QB after Lawrence and Wilson. If you think Miami, the Eagles and the Falcons would have traded down, even given the chance to draft Lawrence or Wilson, then we disagree.

#12, the 9ers, traded up, but they are in the minority in their judgement that someone like Jones is a franchise QB. Others have argued that the 9ers also do not think Jones is a franchise QB but fits their system well, and is therefore, worth the cost. Lynch likes to talk so I am guessing he will tell us someday.

People on this board want BB to mortgage the farm to trade up for QB #4 or #5. That is a risky move, but if it worked out, it would be the right move. Since a # of teams are looking to trade down that indicates it is a very risky move. Arguing that the Pats have nothing to lose so they should try to trade up, means draft picks are meaningless since they are "nothing to lose". If draft picks are not worth something, then there is no reason to trade up to get a higher draft pick because it has no value either. Silly circular argument. The whole draft is about value, that is why there are rounds and players are selected according to rounds - the whole process revolves around value. And the teams with losing records get higher picks because higher picks have greater value. Throwing away valuable assets chasing QB #4 or #5 is a very risky business. Any business that takes big risks more commonly fails. As Kraft said, they are not in business to be in business, they are in business to win. Silly business risks jeopardize the drive to win.

I think the 49ers see what i see in Jones. I just hope Fields wows them at his second throwing session and they select him. This notion that jones is a statue is a lie. He can move some in the pocket. Give me a pocket passer anyday that’s accurate.

Miami drafted their franchise qb last year, Atlanta restricted theirs this year and believes in the guy they took last year for whatever reason. Teams that don’t need QBs are trading down with teams going up to get the QBs.

The biggger risk for the patriots is NOT getting a qb. They won’t win until they do.

One does not have to be HOF bound to be worth where they were taken.
My point was that 3 games doesn't determine actual value. It can certainly determine sentimental value.

And, in the case of Eli, it's going to be 8 games that take an average QB and get him elected into the HOF. And, when that happens, remember that this

and playing in New York, Got a career .500 QB (236-234) into the Hall Of Fame.

No argument from me there. Michel was expected to deliver franchise, all-around RB value and only came close to that his first season thus far. No one drafts a player hoping for just one season of value.

And ugh, thanks for the Elisha reminder.

Harry, winovich, Michel, Bentley and number 15 for number 4.
“Extra first and second round picks you said? How about this...instead of giving you those picks, we’ll give you four underperforming players! How’s that sound?

I have always avoided reading or hearing anything Chris Simms says but I bothered to read his take today on Kellen Mond and he has me thinking....
I am a former aggie and have watched Mond's every single game, he frustrates me a lot but the way Simms pointed out the things that frustrates me and proposed how they could be fixed has me in my feelings right now about Mond. He can learn and time with BB teaching him about defense will only help him grow. He can make all the throws.
I just could not explain why for such an athletic guy, he could get sacked so many times by slower big guys. He needs pocket awareness and movement coaching.
I say don't trade for #4. Stay put, plenty talent out there.

so, you support Cam starting for the next couple of years?

Being willing to trade with DEN is rich. We need to trade to at least 7, and that will likely no be high enough.

Then another year of Cam & Stid it is...

FWIW (nothing), I recently read that Tom Curran claimed that Arthur Blank would not be open to a trade with the Patriots because he was still pissed about the Pats including '28-3' reference (283 diamonds) on their Super Bowl 51 rings

Lots of players would be drafted if it was known they would be one of the vital cogs to deliver a superbowl win for the drafting team. Only in New England is that not good enough.

Nick Chubb would've done just as well if not better.

No blue checkmark, so I'm going to be skeptical.

But hypothetically, would this mean they don't have faith in Hurts, or do they want to nab someone like Pitts?

My three guesses would be a QB, chase, or Pitts.
