A lot of bad rumors being spread about the guy's work ethic. Could be disinformation or it could be a legitimate concern. But it would raise red flags with the Patriots if true.
The problems could be made up but still affect his draft position. They could also be very real and he could still go top 5. Can't really say anything for sure about that kind of thing because we've seen everything happen. It's kind of a catch-22 for me. With his talent, if he falls far enough to draft at 15, the problems might make him untouchable. If he falls just a little bit, the problems are still too risky to use multiple first round picks in order to get him. If the problems are made up, he's probably not falling far enough for us to have a legit shot either way.
What if we somehow land him? He looks talented no doubt but would he succeed in our system? Would he be the next Lamar Jackson or the next Dwayne Haskins? Mac Jones would be more what we are used to seeing in the Patriots system but I feel like Kyle Shanahan has his eyes on him at # 3.
I'd be quite happy to draft Fields if he somehow makes it past 1-2-3. Trade up. Throw future picks into the package. No price is too much if it secures the position long term.
Yes, Fields could fall from 3 all they way to 4 or 5.Sounds like Fields could fall. A lot of bad rumors being spread about the guy's work ethic. Could be disinformation or it could be a legitimate concern. But it would raise red flags with the Patriots if true.
What is he into then? Armpits? He plays like neither of them. Best pro comp is Deshaun Watson without the massage fetish.

I said the exact same thing. Something tells me Bill and the Pats came off desperate for Jimmy G. Add in the assumption that Mac Jones is associated with the Patriots and it's all a smokescreen to make Bill panic and give up way more then he should for Jimmy G. I'd bet Fields is the pick at #3. No way the 49ERS moved all those picks for Mac Jones. To me, Fields seems like Cam but with a stronger and more accurate throwing arm. Nothing like Haskins, and I would agree, more like Watson. I would have him above Fields, personally, 3rd QB.
If SF picks Mac Jones, I will LAUGH. I think the SF love for Mac Jones is a smokescreen, though
It’s nothing like that. If you mis you find another means to land a qb.It's kind of like taking all your money out of savings and betting it on 17 in roulette. Yeah, it's worth it if you hit, because you're set for life now, but if you miss, you don't even have a penny to try again.
I can’t see trading up to 3 for Jones. They could have gone to 7 and saved a 1 or stayed out and probably still gotten him.To me, Fields seems like Cam but with a stronger and more accurate throwing arm. Bull crap. You have no idea. You haven't studied any of them. The only reason Jones is ranked lower by some draft prognosticators is he isn't as athletic as some of the other qb's. Does it mean SF is going to pick him, i have no idea, but to state they could have had him at 7 certainly isn't a sure thing.I can’t see trading up to 3 for Jones. Fields isn’t a guy who relies on running. That’s one reason he has IMO a higher upside than most mobile QBs. He will be a pocket passer who can run rather than a running qb who can pass from the pocket. The later is still good when the legs go.Fields isn’t Lamar Jackson. He’s a much better passer. In terms of work ethic, who knows, but I did see him in that playoff game against Clemson take a huge shot, and played a great game while clearly hurt and beat and outplayed Trevor Lawrence.
