Just a quick disclaimer, although I thoroughly enjoy watching tape and forming opinions on players, I am far from an expert. So take it for what it's worth. I've ranked the players in order of who I would most like the Patriots to get, even though a number of them will be unattainable for us. Also, I'm on my phone, so please forgive any typos.
QB:
1) Trevor Lawrence
2) Trey Lance
3) Mac Jones
4) Zack Wilson
5) Justin Fields
This ranking changes on a daily basis, really 2-5 are interchangeable. After this 5 I only see two QB's worth a pick in before round 6, Kellen Mond and Davis Mills.
RB:
1) Najee Harris
2) Travis Etienne
3) Kenneth Gainwell
4) Javonte Williams
5) Michael Carter
Honourable mentions - Trey Sermon, Jarret Patterson
WR:
1) Jamarr Chase
2) Devonta Smith
3) Jaylen Waddle
4) Terrace Marshall
5) Elijah Moore
The honourable mentions here could literally reach about 15 players, I love a lot of this WR class. But Kadarius Toney was unlucky to miss out and my favourite late round sleeper in the entire draft is Simi Fehoko
TE:
1) Kyle Pitts
2) Pat Freiermuth
3) Brevin Jordan
4) Hunter Long
5) Tommy Tremble
Some really nice late round options here, like Tony Poljan, (oops, I hit post before I was ready, editing now) Kenny Yeboah, Noah Gray and Luke Farrell
OT:
1) Penei Sewell
2) Teven Jenkins
3) Rashawn Slater
4) Alex Leatherwood
5) Liam Eichenberg
I suck at evaluating OL, so I won't bother with honourable mentions. I will say that I don't like Christian Darrisaw and don't see why he's a consensus top 5 tackle. But, like I said, I suck at OL evaluation.
IOL:
1) Alijah Vera Tucker
2) Aaron Banks
3) Quinn Meinerz
4) Jimmy Morrissey
5) Dave Moore
The last two might be controversial, but I love the way they play and I think some of the bigger names simply won't be as good. Landon ****erson would have easily made my list if he wasn't so injury prone. Also, as above, I suck at OL.
IDL:
1) Christian Barmore
2) Tyler Shelvin
3) Alim McNeil
4) Levi Onwuruzike
5) Jaylen Twymen
Slim pickings here. Jay Tufele unlucky to miss out, and Tommy Togiai
DE:
1) Kwity Page
2) Aziz Oujalari
3) Chris Rumph
4) Jayson Oweh
5) Joe Tryon
Jaelen Phillips would be my number 2, were it not for the concussions. I think he's off my board. I'm not particularly high on Rosseau.
LB:
1) Micah Parsons
2) Zaven Collins
3) Jeremiah Owusu Koromoah
4) Nick Bolton
5) Jabril Cox
I think Chazz Surrat might develop into a nice player and I like Baron Browning, Pete Werner and Paddy Fisher too.
CB:
1) Patrick Surtain
2) Jaycee Horn
3) Greg Newsome
4) Caleb Farley
5) Kelvin Joseph
Caleb Farley would be at 2 were it not for his injury concerns. Aaron Robinson and Melifonwu were unlucky to miss out, and I like the two Georgia guys too, Campbell and Stokes, and Benjamin St Juste. Good depth throughout the draft here, without too many elite players
S:
1) Trevon Moehrig
2) Richie Grant
3) Ardarius Washington
4) Jamar Johnson
5) Jevon Holland
I think the top end of this class is pretty weak, I don't think there is a huge gulf between the top safeties and the bottom of the middle of the class.
I haven't looked at special teams at all. So there you have it. Feel free to rip me.
