Rohrwasser cut

Dude had to have tattoos removed because of the hipsters and snowflakes were so upset.

From there it all went downhill. Missing kicks et all.
Is that true or did he have them removed because he realized what they actually represented?

It would not be the first time somebody regretted getting a tattoo when they were younger.

You make too many assumptions. He clearly missed kicks because he is not good at his job

159 pick a waste...cost us the playoffs last year;)

Look the national sports media pretty much destroyed Kraft and BB over the AH pick. Yes hindsight is 20/20 but there were warning signs. Bad job by Bill and Bob. You might not think it was a poor choice but youre not running one of the highest profile sports franchises in the world. They should be better!

Unfortunately as we know they have not been...

Your after the fact genius is amazing.

So it had nothing to do with his ability to be a consistent place kicker??.

Having a 3% tttoo is hardly something that endears a player in the NFL. The tattoo could have been attributed to the folly of youth, but he went to college for 4 years and no one noticed?? Doubt that this was the reason though.. talent trumps tattoos.

Kickers are like closers and hockey goalies.

The go haywire all the time. Happens all the time.

Nothing more to report.

i wanted the kid from Georgia Oh well

If he did not miss that 50 yarder in practice, the people of Massachusetts were ready to welcome him with open arms.

Thats what they do.

In the end, the only thing that should matter is how a player performs on the field. JR was cut because he didn't do the job as well as Folk. I would hate to think if he were black, knelt for the National Anthem and wore a BLM tattoo on his arm, he would still be a Patriot. Last time I checked, those were not job requirements to be a placekicker in the NFL. Also, having all three of those things should not be a reason to cut a player who is doing the job. Your personal beliefs and choices, as long as they are not illegal, should have no impact on your ability or right to play in the NFL.

It’s funny to see how the tune of some of the posters on here has changed when you compare this situation to Kaepernick’s. A lot of you have done a complete 180 depending on the player. In reality, they both got tarred and feathered for exercising their freedom of expression and their abilities weren’t good enough for the team to put up with them when they considered the ensuing ****storm. In Kaep’s case, he doesn’t want to play anymore. That’s clear. He’s made a ridiculous profit off of being a martyr. I’m sure this kid actually still wants to play since he’s not inking a Nike deal anytime soon.

What a disaster of a pick. I think he was the first kicker taken? We could have had blankenship. It is not the 5th rounder that bothers me so much but the position. Place kicker is a points position. The most important behind QB. Folk has been pretty solid but we have to get a young guy.

Still blows my mind Belichick took that kid over Blankenship.
Blankenship? He could have been signed as a UDFA. He took this kid over Tyler Johnson and Peoples-Jones when there was a massive, glaring need at the WR position. That’s what should blow your mind, my friend.

Such a good point. If we are were going to blow a 5th then get a skill guy. The only thing I would say is we needed a kicker because Ghost had hip surgery. Usually Bill is pretty good at drafting kickers - FG and punter. This was an abomination of a pick. Not only could the guy NOT kick, he had character issues. Place kicker is second only to QB. You have to have it as points are at stake. We lucked into Folk but he did cost in 2019 with a lot of misses. He was better in 2020 but realistically how long can we rely on him? He is 36.

Other teams didn’t know what he was capable of either. Let’s not rewrite history in order to pile on BB. It isn’t what it is, at least the way you’re trying to spin it. Stick to the facts. They aren’t hard to find on the web.

We could post rumors all day long. End of the day the red flags were there and they were ignored.

Generalizations, that usually means lack of critical thought...

No one viewed practices last year due to COVID-19... so not sure what you are talking about.
