Player Signing David Andrews is back!!

Wynn' s most comfortable spot is IR. He's missed 70% of games. Can't keep changing the lineup when he's in/,out
He had an Achilles injury and lost his rookie year, he's fully recovered and has played 2 seasons since then. Then he had a turf toe injury the following year and missed half the year. He had a sprained ankle last year and missed a few weeks. The way IR works causes many of these missed games, he was recovered but not eligible to play due to whatever type of list they put him on. You're exaggerating his injury prone-ness.

Brown has played some RT gives us great flexibility and depth along this line.

What do you mean has played "some" RT ? Brown has been a RT through his entire career except for that one year he spent here.

No way I would of signed a long term deal with the possible salary cap increase coming up. Would of banked on myself and signed a 1 or 2 year deal and kicked @ss and got paid later. Then again, with his health I could see it if his doctors told him his condition could recur.

I'll be interested in what he got because my prediction was that he could get $9M-$10M per year, but it sounds like he probably got $7M-$8M as others predicted.

Yeah, the Belichick-run Pats are just like the doofus-run Jets.
The reference was about winning the offseason. The Patriots are taking an approach to this offseason that people here have historically mocked, and now those people are dancing in the aisles over it. And, in case you've not seen my posts on the subject, I said early on that I was in favor of the team taking this approach. It was a great opportunity to take advantage of a confluence of factors (cap space being limited for most teams, dropping cap meaning players would likely be accepting a little bit less than they'd normally demand, no decent home grown players to spend the money on, opportunity to fill in roster so that a trade up for a QB would be a better possibility if the team thought that to be a good idea).

And the Belichick run Pats were pretty darned Jets-like last year, so your slap down doesn't really make a lot of sense in that context.

I think he probably got about 3/15 with a fake year added on the end to make it look like more

The Patriots approach this offseason only appears on the surface to be like what some other teams do. And you articulate why it's not the case in your post here. So for you to suggest that it's actually like what the Jets have done is silly, and I was happy to mock you for that. And it made perfect sense.

Wonder why we still have no idea what the money is, even the fake "up to" type numbers.

He hasn't played 2 full seasons. He's had like 5 different injuries. He missed 70% of his nfl games . Achilles, ankle, toe, foot, knee . We rejuggle the entire Online every time he's out which is often.

.

You mean when he's been mediocre at RT at multiple teams but won a ring for a full season at left tackle? Where he's enormous but temperament as a gentle giant and a way better pass blocker than run blocker ???

Why do you keep saying he was a mediocre RT when he was a good RT with the 49ers? Even Von Miller said he was a tough matchup and one of best RT's he has faced. 49ers only traded him because they felt he was slacking in conditioning and knew he was looking for a big contract.

Living in CA, I watch a lot of 9ers games and he was a beast at RT for the 9ers.

You are literally inventing things and pretending they are real to push your narrative. It’s tiresome

He was the 29th rated RT in SF. He graded great as a pass blocker but hit and miss as a run blocker. Remember we got him cheap via trade. Consistent with his later reports in NE and also on the Raiders. A RT needs to be a mean nasty run blocker in a power running scheme. A LT's primary talent is pass blocking. Trent Brown is a better pass blocker than run blocker. I obviously agree he can play RT too but I know Onwenu can as well, and Wynn is unreliable having only played 16 of 48 NFL games. And I agree with you that Von said he was a great pass blocker (again bolstering my argument that he's a beast pass blocker more suited for LT).

"As a run-blocker, Brown has been hit or miss from play to play as an NFL right tackle. From 2015-2017 he ranked 11th among qualifying right tackles by earning a positively-graded run-block percentage of 10.5%, but he also ranked dead last among the same group with a negatively-graded run-block percentage of 19.0%."

I know this is an exercise in futility but I will try.
Its 2021, not 1978.
Please explain what you think the difference between a RT and a LT is.
While explaining keep in mind the following facts about today’s game.
The strong side of the offense, which many years ago was the right side 95% of the time is now interchangeable. Strong right us no more common than strong left. In fact with the popularity of 1 back offenses there often is no strong side. Teams run right or left equally as often.
Defenses therefore no longer put run defenders on the offensive right and pass rushers on the offensive left. Defenders flip sides consistently and especially in passing downs are mixed around to create mismatches. If a team has a weak pass blocking T the best pass rusher will line up on him most of the day. Offenses will run the ball at the weakest defenders regardless of which side of the field they are on.
Blind side is barely existent any more. Most passes happen from the shot gun, so that the QB is not turning his back to the rush. The days of a QB standing in the pocket with a RDE beating a LT around the edge and coming full speed to lower his head abs shoulder into the QBs back are long gone.
There badically is no difference between LT and RT the way the game is played now and mostly the side a T plays on is just to keep them consistent in their footwork in their past blocking drop. This is why teams so often flip them.
Brown can play either but has the most experience on the right. Wynn has only played on the left. Asking Wynn to relearn his footwork based upon a misconception of how the game was played 40 years ago is dumb.

EDIT: Oh and PFF? Lol.

Or he decided money isn’t everything, once you have enough money happiness is the goal and if he has enough money and is happy in NE why upset the apple cart?
