Belichick criticism mega-thread

Kurt Warner? Rich Gannon? Hahaha Ok then

Psst! Warner was the league MVP in 2001. Gannon was the league MVP in 2002. Both those guys were elite QBs for a very short period of time.

I do not give a flying **** to league MVP. They can have them.
The same regarding Rodgers this year. He can have his MVP, stats, Pro Bowls. He can run like an *******: I got my 400 TD pass, I am so awesome!

All that matters: rings and SB MVPs.
Gannon? Really? Hahahaha

I think Belichick would have taken him back at the right price, but he is also the guy who believes letting a guy go one year too early than one year too late. Even how Brady played this year, there is no guarantee he won't hit the age wall like a freight train next season. Brett Favre went from league MVP candidate and one play away from the Super Bowl one year to garbage the next. And other QBs have had that drop off too. I think Belichick was playing the odds a bit especially after how Brady played in 2019 and thought the end for Brady was coming sooner rather than later.
Belichick was several years off with the Brady evaluation. He brought up Brady's age and contract situation as early as 2014. Brady's won 4 more Super Bowls and 3 more Super Bowl MVP's since then. If Belichick was grading Brady harshly in 2019 then he's a complete dope because the supporting cast was rock bottom.

Brady just had a tremendous season, validated his legacy while damaging Belichick's, and ironically Belichick made it all possible. Brady would have finished out his career as a Patriot had Belichick just made a longer term commitment. You can't blame Brady for getting fed up with being treated like a has-been when he knew he had a lot of good football left in him. Only the Patriots dynasty is over. Brady's continues. Wait until Brady matches into Gillette next season and blows the doors off Belichick's defense.

And I will be delighted.

Just take a look at Gronk, how he was miserable here.

You do not need to be sarcastic.

MJ: not downgraded.

Just Phil is a god and he is a demi-god, am I right? :D
Demi-god and a top 2 NBA player is still amazing.
OK, just as long as you and I agree that it was Phil Jackson's doing, and without Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan doesn't win a single championship.

I did not say that.

I just said Phil, for me personally, is greater.
He won without MJ.
The latter did not win without Phil. It is just a fact.

And like I said, Jordan is a top 2 player all time, and that is really really good.

So you're saying then, applying the same logic, that Belichick could win without Brady? Just as Jordan could win without Jackson?

Jordan did not win without Phil, did he?
And he just can't do it anymore.

Belichick did not win without Brady, did he?
In this case, he still can win, let's see if can pull it off.

I'm the one that stated these facts. So you don't have to repeat what I said. I was just asking for your conclusion. If Belichick needed Brady to win and couldn't have won one with Brady, does that also mean that Jordan needed Jackson to win and couldn't have won one if, say, Jimmy Rodgers was his head coach?

Based on a simple reading of the facts presented, I think you would say YES Jordan could not have won without Jackson.

Yes, Jordan could, but he did not win.
He played for another team and did not win, right?
He was old? Hell yeah. But Brady is much older and won.
So you are just guessing here. Could he? Yes, probably.

BB can win without Brady now.
But the facts: he was a sub 0.500 coach before and it still is after Brady.
Could you argue that?

Just take a look at Gronk.
The guy was depressed, feeling like trash with all the bad stuff from BB.

Now he is living with joy, getting 2 tuddies in the SB 55.

Do you want more?
Gronk was happy until he clashed with Belichick over his training coaches (Gronk wanted Guerrero), but Gronk was also hurt, and not happy at the end. Yes, he was depressed. And he wasn't happy that the Patriots wanted to trade him. But this is how Belichick has always operated. Seymour, Milloy, Mankins, let them go a year early. This is part of why Rob was upset.

Gee, look what being healthy does for you.

Every player is with his team for the set number of years, and when the team moves on from you, players get upset. It explains Danny Amendola and it explains Asante Samuel and many others. This is the NFL. There is a salary cap. If you want the most talented team, you better know how to manage the cap. If you want long term domination like the league has never seen before, you have to be even smarter than that.

All you do here is give BB a pass.
He treated everyone like ****.

Gronk is the GOAT TE as well and he could've treated better as well.

But you can continue to hide all BB miscues.

How is it a miscue to manage the roster properly?

I'm a fan of the Patriots. I don't really care about poor millionaires getting their feelings hurt. I want my team to WIN.

It is your opinion that he managed properly.
I disagree violently.

After BB dumped Brady, you can pray for all Gods above and below, NEP won't win ****.

You thought we should have gone to more than 13 championship games, 9 Super Bowls, 6 SB wins, in 19 years?

Isn't that just a bit, um, unrealistic?

Gronk wanted a new deal. That's why he was all mopey in 2017 and acted like a weirdo that offseason.

When Bill said no (like Seymour who also wanted an extension) he was going to ship him to DET who was prepared to give him a new deal.

Upon learning the trade destination was DET, he threatened retirement, deal fell apart and stayed.

I truly believe Gronk was physically and mentally cooked. He needed to get out of here. Health, BB, etc...but it was also because of his contract.

What I also believe is Bill was prepared to move on from him after the 2018 season. Bill was not going to pay $10m for a lesser Gronk.

That was possible because of Brady. A GOAT QB was needed for something of that magnitude.

Keep dreaming the lightning will strike twice here.

Tampa paid him 9 mi and guess what?
It was worth it. 2 SB tuddies and awesome blocking all the way.

People here have been predicting Belichick will find another Brady? Can you link to that post?

But are you also saying the Patriots should have gone to more SBs than they did and that Belichick's poor roster management held them back?

We should've won SB 52 if that huge ego didn't bench Butler.
Brady had arguable the best SB QB performance of all time that day.
