Belichick's end of season speech / excuses to team

When was Brady not able to practice with his wrs? He was almost fined for violated covid protocols during the off season.

In the 2020 season it was reported by many sports scribes that he could not practice during the season because of an elbow injury, most of the reps fell on Stidham.. his passes last year were often off target. He was not the same guy who we saw the previous 19 seasons..

This year whatever was wrong has been righted..

The media is really coming for Bill. Even with his mistakes I'm not sure fans should wish for him gone.

Look at all the teams replacing their coaches every year. Eagles just fired the guy who got them a superbowl

It keeps listeners on Sports Talk Radio listening and fills space in newspapers/online publications..

Ginning up controversy for the GOAT Coach BB creates interest and often vitriol.. many line up for their pound of flesh.

You know they have been waiting for 20 years.

Wait for Monday when Brady throws several picks and KC isn't so forgiving like Green Bay.

Are the newly minted Belichick haters going to find every little thing and blow it out of proportion to "prove" that Belichick sucks? This is going to a long, long offseason.

He was kicked out
Yea he wanted to be here so bad. Loved it so much he refused to show up to OTAs (like he always did) sulked for the better part of 2 years, complained about being unappreciated, complained about his contract, and made videos showing how he was forced to get his massages in luxury suites.

Wake up. He wanted out and BB wanted to move on.

Everything between those two was passive-aggressive BS until he signed with Tampa.

Most of this "fan base" operates with a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. I'm sure you could go thru posts from last season from posters complaining about Brady who made posts this year wishing he was still here.

The media is chomping at the bit to rip Bill a new one if Brady wins on Sunday with a new team year one. WOW!

Is that the guy who threw 3 picks in the second half at Green Bay and was bailed out by Green Bay's incompetence?
There are only two quarterbacks in the entire NFL that you could confidently say would have won three road playoff games to get to the Super Bowl.

There are only two quarterbacks in the entire NFL that you could confidently say would have beaten the #2 and #1 seed to get to the Super Bowl.

There are only two quarterbacks in the entire NFL that you could confidently say would have won at the Superdome and at Lambeau to get to the Super Bowl.

One is the quarterback who actually did it, Brady, and the other is his opponent in the Super Bowl, Mahomes.

Brady's 3 picks in the NFCCG led to 6 points for Green Bay. Two of the picks amounted to punts, in particular the last, and the second pick was a deflection off of a receiver's hands. The picks, although not pretty in the stat line, didn't hurt the team. Brady was outstanding up to the point of the 28-10 lead which held up. If you want to get on a quarterback then you should pick on Peyton Manning 2.0 for passing up a probable free lane into the end zone.

Wait for Monday when Brady throws several picks and KC isn't so forgiving like Green Bay.
This is a prediction? Tampa Bay loses because Brady throws several picks. Ok, we'll see. But it would be the first time in 9 previous Super Bowl appearances that Brady doesn't have his team in position to win the game late in the 4th quarter.

Brady made it clear - publicly even - that he had wanted a longer term commitment from the Patriots. He's been saying for years that he intended on playing into his mid-40's. The team (primarily Belichick but also the Krafts) were only willing to go year-by-year under pretty asinine conditions (i.e. incentives).

Bottom line, Brady would have stayed but Belichick wanted to show everyone he could win without Brady so he squeezed him out of town. Problem is, for Belichick, he didn't count on his team falling below .500 for the first time since Brady wasn't the starting quarterback; meanwhile Brady is leading his new team to a Super Bowl. Now anyone who's not irrationally clutching onto IBWT sees the last 20 years in New England for what is really was... the greatest quarterback of all-time carrying a franchise to unprecedented success.

Brady has proven he can win without Belichick.
Belichick has proven he can NOT win without Brady.

Those are the FACTS.

Meh. Tom said he wants to stay here. Why on earth would he limit his options in FA by saying he wouldn't?

Kraft said he wanted Tom here.

Curran says Belichick preferred Tom to be QB for the NEP in 2020.

Gotta read between the lines dude.

So you are passing judgement BB can't win w/o Tom after 10 months? Really?

Tom leaves to go to a team with a loaded roster and BB is rebuilding a old roster with cap problems...Gee thats an equal comparison

OTAs? You mean the optional stuff?

sulked in last 2 years? You mean he sulked his way to a SB win? Give me more sulking please!!

He WAS unappreciated, has a crap contact, and him and his trainer were kicked out of team facilities. Bucs seem to have managed, why couldn’t we?

I am awake. He wanted a 2 yr commitment and not play year to year. Too much to ask?

There was no passive aggressive BS. BB didn’t call him all offseason. Tom left. BB celebrated.

I expect nothing less from you.

Oh I'm sure there's tons. Just like those screaming that amendola is right who were calling him trash in 2013 and 2014 when he wasn't living up to his "Welker replacement" status making $6million while Welker was tearing it up in Denver

Belichick's coaching ability without Tom is 62-71.

On that record, 7-9 is bang on target.

Head coaching record, or coaching record?

And why should the Brady games not count?

I just want to point out that there are posters in this thread criticizing Belichick for being too much of a hard-ass.

And there are posters in this thread criticizing Belichick for going soft and losing his edge.

And there are posters saying both things without realizing it.

That should tell you everything you need to know: it’s largely baseless.

Some people on here must live insufferable lives. Cry, whine and ***** when we win. Cry, whine and ***** when we lose.

Is 8-8 the happy medium? Asking for a friend.

This place used to be great for Pats fans solidarity...then Fnord showed up....and the shyt hit the fan as we went to hell in a handbasket slapping the puppet over the most incredibly inane postulations in sports board history. In scientific terms....ENTROPY. Yup, all Fnord's fault.

I'm a Patriots fan. I really do enjoy following Brady for fun, but he's not playing on the Patriots. Now, Bill Belichick is on the Patriots. I'm sort of rooting for things to get right in future years for him, because then my team will be winning, and as a Patriots fan, I want the Patriots to win.

You'd think we all share that. I actually don't think we do anymore. The BB haters don't seem to be down anymore. Or they're JEST fans, whatev.

Go Bucs this Sunday, that's great. Brady and Gronk still have love for Pats fans they say, that's fine, we don't hate them, they don't hate us, whoop de doo. Truth is, they wanted out, they got out, Gronk even had to retire and unretire. They love us fans, not enough to play for the Pats of course, but they love us.

Look, it's natural. You spend your money and picks trying to give Tom a contending team for 20 years, and by and large you do (and TFB does the rest, bumping up mediocre rosters to be great.) Eventually, after all the hits and all the misses, you run out of resources: Cap space, draft picks, etc. Without the NFL-confiscated picks, maybe it's 23 years not 20. Maybe everything broke around the Jimmy G sequence of events. Maybe "Bill the GM" got in the way of Bill the Coach, and he'd have won 20 Super Bowls if he had a good GM.

Imunno.

I know Brady couldn't wait to get out, and really I don't think Gronk ever drank the koolaid. I don't think you can propagandize Gronk, his mind appears at least from what he shows publicly, to skate along the surfaces.

All I can say is, old guy like Brady doesn't need to be in a hotspot like Florida, know what I'm sayn?
