2020 Conference Championship weekend

Hah. Tweaked nerve my ass. He had no clue where he was. The brain sits in fluid and can bounce off the skull even if the head doesn’t hit the turf. It just depends on how violently the head snaps.

There was no doubt he was playing but the tweaked nerve is an insult to our intelligence

Agreed, he was always playing regardless of the concussion. It just goes to show what a farce the so called protocol is. NFL has never cared about concussions.

The thing is if he got concussed bad which it sure looked like given he could not stand up then his risk of going out of the champ game is very high. Scary stuff.

I think Buffalo beats the Chiefs and GB takes care of Tompa this week.

Bucs in a rout over GB. 37-20. I've been on their bandwagon for over a month, why stop now? This train isn't stopping for anyone.
AFC game depends on Mahomes status. If he plays I'll go KC 28-24
LAWD, HE HAS SEEN THE LIGHT!!!

That poster should of been put in timeout for trolling a long time ago but I digress. We aren't doctors though and us saying he was concussed because of how he looked is the same as other posters saying Brady is guilty because he 'smashed' his phone. I don't think a doctor would put his signature on clearing him if they didn't feel it was valid. This is a high profile game with the face of the league if something were to happen whoever signed off would be finished. Money talks I suppose, but that would be venturing down conspiracy lane. I think the Chiefs could beat BUF without him. I also think BUF could beat them if he does play so what do I know really.
Absolutely nothing.

Tootsie, why is Mahomes in concussion protocol? His big toe.

The NFL’s five-phase concussion protocol delineates stages from symptom-limited activity to aerobic exercise to football-specific exercise for 30 minutes or less. Club-based non-contact training drills is the step immediately before full football activity clearance. An independent neurological consultant must examine a player before he is cleared.

Give me the bucs DL over the packers. Getting pressure on Rodgers. Also Bowles cannot go zone. For some odd reason the rams went zone against Rodgers. That’s suicide. Have to limit their running game.

The Rams going zone was fine, provided Aaron Donald could have the usual effect. Going man was fine, provided Aaron Donald could have his usual effect. Instead he was a shell of himself and the Rams got practically no pressure. The Rams DL without Donald is pretty good, but probably not even top 10. Donald doesn't just get a ton of pressure by himself, he does it against double teams and gives everyone else a 1v1. Once Donald proved to be ineffective (in a 1v1 mind you) it had a cascade effect and everything else fell apart from there. Donald may be the best defensive player of all time I'd probably argue that at this point, but I wouldn't pound the table to say I'm right. What I will pound the table on is that he's the most IMPACTFUL defensive player of all time. The pure impact he has on the game is bigger than any other non-QB. Ever. This is due to the position he plays and the skill set he excels at to a far degree.

He's only ever missed 2 games in his career One was against a horrible Colts team on the first game of the season, which you can kind of throw out as it is a horrible data point for various reasons. The other was a week 17 game where he was sat along with a number of other players. We've never had to see this team without Donald or with him being completely ineffective. But from what I've seen of his team from the difference he makes when in the game vs out he is bigger than most people realize to their success.

Once he proved that he may as well not even be in the game cause he literally had a negative impact on it, everything was going to fall apart no matter what they did. No pressure got home. They don't have the horses to go man to man across the board, and Rodgers had over 4 seconds in a clean pocket more often than not. Once that happens it doesn't matter if you play zone or man. A top tier QB will pick you apart.

Mahomes remains in concussion protocol which makes the report from the former shoe salesman of a tweaked nerve complete and utter BS. Timmy the resident troll strikes again with more pendejadas.

They are much more likely to enforce a protocol if a player bad or a good player on a bad team that isn't going anywhere. Then they'll make him sit. The more meaningful the game, the more likely they are to push you. In a playoff game for any player who matters it's a joke.

They want their good players to have long careers and not get concussions from waking up in the morning because they had too many already (like Austin Collie). It looks bad for the NFL, it opens them up to lawsuits, caring is a distant 3rd. Not that they don't care at all, the NFL isn't structure like a typical corporation (technically they are a non-profit I think lol). There isn't a bunch of red tape to make decisions or a structure that dictates they have an legal obligation to jealously side with what's best for the company. It's up to the 32 owners. And while some of them are uncaring scum, some do still have a bit of a heart and see their players as human. If enough of them see something as clearly wrong that will swing the opinion of the whole. But that is a very high bar. I imagine a lot of them see it as players making their own choices and trying to get their cash while they can. It's easy to justify things when you put it in that perspective to yourself.

ESPN 8 out of 9 picking Packers, 6 out of 9 picking KC

Meanwhile the Bucs are getting their best DT back. I would expect Vea, Suh and JPP to make Aaron a little more uncomfortable.

Question. When was the last time that BOTH #1 seeds were beat? I think most #1 seeds have advanced the past 10 or more seasons? It would be highly unlikely that both the Bucs and Bills win.

It happened in 2018. Rams beat the Saints and Pats beat the Chiefs. I can totally see it happening again this year. Either one of these 4 teams can win the SB and there really isn't much home field advantage this year without the fans.
