Linda Holliday Snaps Back At Instagram Comment About Tom Brady

I despise that she feels the need to defend Bill by bashing Brady. This is my problem. People on this forum, we all know who, do the same thing. Can't blame her for not being happy since the media is going over the top with all this anti BB stuff but she looks pretty bad imo liking posts like "F Brady and Gronk" and so on.

Reasons why it is not necessarily so that Linder is a proxy for BB as many here presume.
1) My wife has abandoned my Pats for Tamper, TFB, Gronk and AB. I have not abandoned the NEP.
2) My granddaughters like HS girls pissed at an ex-boyfriend who left are pissed at TFB and don't follow him at Tamper. I do. Enthusiastically.
Same household != same opinions necessarily.

I agree her posts are comedy gold. Love it!

Just another example of how the wheels have come off a bit at One Patriot Place.
Has she ever commented on social media about the Pats before? I don't remember anything being discussed here. If not then it might be a sign that the walls at OPP are starting to show some cracks.

Not sure. But our media is scouring her social media today. We are about to find out I think.

She usually posts rah rah go Pats, and go Bill stuff from the suites at Gillette and stuff with her daughters and dog. doesn't usually dive into anything deeper than that.

Imagine you're Holliday, actively reading/watching the sports media destroy your boyfriend/husband on a regular basis after all he has accomplished.

Yes, ultimately the best option is to simply avoid social media because it's a toxic sh*tshow and nothing good comes of it. But I can certainly understand how it'd be hard to avoid jumping in and defending your partner. Once you see it, it's hard to get over it. That's why avoiding social media is always the best option.

And again, I don't think Holliday's defense of Belichick necessarily means Belichick is sitting next to her sharing the same feelings. I've had people say something on my behalf on social media, only to come to me 5-10 minutes later and tell me what they did as I tell them, "WTF were you thinking??".

1.) Holliday posting this doesn't say a single thing about where Belichick's head is at.

Exactly. It means less than nothing.

Not only that, but I’d expect any human being to have some resentment when splitting with someone. I expect both Tom and Bill harbor some resentment towards each other; they must; they’re human.

It doesn’t mean they obsess about wanting the other to fail or that they don’t have some mixed feelings. It also doesn’t mean I think any of less of either one.

They need some time apart like everyone. These are real human beings, not TV-generated figures.

Oh, look, it's the regular crowd, rolling in their Brady/Belichick rumor-mill mudpit. How nice.

I wonder how "awesome" this would be to them if it was Giselle posting these things.

A few thoughts:

1.) Holliday posting this doesn't say a single thing about where Belichick's head is at. For all we know, Holliday is watching and Bill is in his office distracted. To assume Holliday's frustrations are a proxy for Bill's frustrations is just that, an assumption. To further extrapolate that Bill is actively unhappy because of Tom Brady's success in Tampa is utterly preposterous and shows just how absurd the Brady-Belichick discussions have gotten.

Belichick girlfriend unhappy > therefore Belichick must be unhappy > therefore Belichick hates Brady > therefore Belichick is sensitive

^^^^ If that is your thought process, take a step back and check yourself because the above set of assumptions are unfounded and aren't necessarily true. Rather, the above reveals one's underlying assumptions/bias.

Again, let me be extremely clear: If you think Bill Belichick is actively rooting against, and/or is unhappy about Tom Brady's success, you are dead wrong and should reevaluate the way you understand Belichick, because you're way off-base. If that is the position one is taking, you can effectively be tossed in the garbage-bin with all the folks who've written-off Brady as a player/person simply because he's wearing a different uniform. The two stances are no different, demonstrate clear bias, and undermine any credibility the person has as an objective observer.

1a.) If Belichick is frustrated, I can assure you it's with the media, not with Brady himself. The media and fans who've turned their back on him in less than a full season after he built 20 teams over the course of 20 years, appeared in 9 Super Bowls and won 6. Belichick is far from perfect but the stuff we've seen here (and across the entire media landscape) is beyond the pale (and in most cases, just plain inaccurate).

I agree 100% with the intent behind this post, but you can't then claim you know for sure what Bill is thinking. It's the same deal. Again, I agree that I don't THINK Bill is actively rooting against Tom, or pissed that Tom is winning, etc. Hell, there was that story from the guy (I'm blanking on his name) who wrote the Dynasty book, who said Bill's last words to Tom when he announced he was leaving was, "You're the greatest QB of all time, and an even better person." I highly doubt there's any real animosity there. But again, we don't know either way.

My guess? Bill is highly competitive. This isn't news. Anyone who's lived with or near a highly competitive person knows how that person gets when they don't win. It can be... difficult. Linda probably knows how Bill feels after last season, and is too keen to defend him. Like a LOT of people (including many on this forum), the quickest and easiest way she feels she can do that is to bring Tom down, especially if she's active on social media and sees a lot of fans doing the reverse. This isn't exclusive to sports. It's actually what drives a lot of racism and bigotry: It's much easier and more seductive to tear someone down and put them below you than to raise yourself up.

But nothing Linda does indicates exactly how Bill feels about Tom.

People seem to act like Bill is this egoless guy who doesn't hear any outside noise. He is a human being who is very aware of his legacy and there is absolutely no chance he isn't aware of what the Skip Bayless's and the Shannon Sharpe's of the world are saying about him.

This is the thing though. That was always the stakes when he Brady left under the circumstances that he left. Bill kind of dug his own grave here with having no QB succession plan which resulted in some of the worst QBing we have seen since the 90s while Brady has been killing it in Tampa and is now in the NFCCG. I am not saying it is right or fair but should not be a surprise least of all to Bill or Linda living in this media market for the past 20 years.

Exactly. Media idiots peddling this are like some Bravo gossip channel. When Gissel flipped out and said her husband can't throw and catch at the same time, at no point did I think it meant Brady is ranting at home that his receivers suck. It's the partner/spouse of someone protecting their person, that's it. Means nothing else.

Probably because we normally get zlich from Bill or anyone close to him. Just a bunch of snorts and grunts. Like I said, seems the walls are crumbling just a bit at One Patriot Place.

Exactly, Bill wanted to prove he could win with any QB because I think he considered himself as a genius and a football mastermind. He has the biggest ego in the building! He never took critics well.

You sound like a little gossip girl. There is no crumbling. The Pats went into 2020 with $30M in dead cap space and 8 player opt-outs. The season played out as predicted, zero surprises. Brady doing great with Bucs all-stars and the Pats rebuilding. All expected. BB's girlfriend saying this is no different than Giselle speaking out of turn. It means nothing.

They also went into the season with a zero plan at QB which resulted in the worst QBing we have seen since the mid 90s. If you want to stick your fingers in your ears and say it means nothing, have at it but reality says otherwise.

Well, this is one of those "filter out the stupid people" topics. The litmus test in this case is whether you think this has anything to do with how Bill feels.
