Winovich Tweet

Maybe Chase thinks it was funny that people were reporting he was. On a short lease and is having fun messing with people.
For all we know BB and him are laughing it up

That's not happening, I can say that very confidently. If Bill didn't pal around with Captain America after 20 years, he sure as hell isn't sharing a laugh on twitter with Thor 2.0.

This one I’m sure will lead to some discussion:

I’m assuming he’s not talking about a sweatshirt.

Given that he's a football player, I'm going to go ahead and guess that this really is about a hooded sweatshirt.

Seems like the new breed of athletes that is looking to "build their brand". I know these guys want to squeeze every bit of earning power they have out of the short timeline they have in the league but it can't get in the way of what they actually get paid to do. He just strikes me as someone who doesn't get it and may not be around much longer.

don’t worry anfernee hardaway will do just fine in his place.

I think the joke here isn’t to read “lbs” as pounds but as “linebackers”. That’s how I read it and got a chuckle out of it.
Ahhh,.. Hard to tell when it's not capitalized..

I thought DaBruinz was continuing the joke.

Instead of "tweeting" weird s***, he needs to work on his game. He must feel real good about himself he got 2 sacks in Week 17 (meaningless game) to match his season total from last year (5.5) against the 2nd worst team in the league. High fives all around!

Hard time setting the edge. Hard time keeping trap shut. Despite energy & sacks, I dunno if Wino sticks around w/o a few changes.

This is such a weird interpretation of the most normal millennial Twitter account I've seen. He's just being himself, although I understand a lot of people don't like when athletes do that online. Not all internet posts come with a profit motive, especially from younger people.

And if you aren't basing this opinion off Twitter, where is it coming from? Those vague anonymous reports about him being a "locker room lawyer"?

Fans can be so weird sometimes. It seems a lot of you forget that these are just people, usually of average intelligence and cultural upbringing.

Complaining about NFL players tweeting innocuous things at the beginning of their offseason is the same Karen logic as complaining about nurses doing TikTok dances on their break. Do you think Winovich just never goes to the gym because he's always on his phone or something?

He has his own YouTube channel. His own website. His own clothing/merchandise. On his website it says “The official brand of Chase Winovich”. I have no real issue with it. Edelman has been one of the biggest innovators in this area for athletes but Edelman never seemed to let “the brand” come first. His tweet isn’t that big of a deal on the surface but at best it was attention seeking. Winovich just seems to have a lot of growing up to do.
