22 Things to Not Look Forward To If Newton Starts Tonight

Brian Flores doesn’t hesitate to pull the starter, he’s done it twice this year and it doesn’t seem to have ruined team chemistry in Miami.
Benching Cam at this point would ruin absolutely nothing. He is so bad that I think the team would be relieved if he was benched.

Can you imagine if he’s back next year and we get several more “sorry boo” letters after the offense continues to suck

Was this thread made by @Ian , or Evil Ian???

LOL, funny story - years ago my wife convinced me to shave my head right before we went on vacation for a week and while I was off, I also grew a mustache and goatee. Obviously anyone who knows me knows I've always had no real facial hair and the same haircut. I'm a boring guy...pretty sure most of you also know that ;)

Anyway, when I got back to work the following Monday, I walked in and everyone completely stopped and looked at me in shock and one of my coworkers said, "this isn't Ian, this is the evil version of Ian - Evil-Ian". And that's how it went until I eventually shaved and then my hair grew back and it's been back to the same ever since.

My wife just brought that up again a few days ago because she was going through photos and noticed we didn't have any photos from that vacation (she was trying to find one of me with my head shaved), so it was funny that you posted the "Evil Ian" mention. :D

Cam was never an elite passer, but he was pretty good. Good enough that along with his running, he won a Heisman and an NFL MVP. I don’t understand what happened. The physical part can be explained, but how has he become so bad at reading a defense?

I will say about this that I was surprised there weren't more of the plays I posted (although I didn't include interceptions, sacks, etc.). It definitely felt like there were, probably because as you can see, some of them came in key situations, which is probably why they stood out a little more.

Going back through it, he did get the ball out of his hands faster back at the beginning of the year. Again, I don't know if there's an arm ailment now causing him to hold it longer by being unsure if he can get it there or what the issue is. And a lot of the batted balls and short throws seemingly started midseason. It's definitely bizarre.

I think it’s almost a guarantee we get some kind of announcement confirming a Newton injury after the season ends this time next week.

Add a couple more to the sH!t Parade...

That's the one thing I did take away from this. But even healthy - if there is indeed an issue - I get why they signed him and I like him as a person, but just don't view him as the long-term solution.
I'll be honest: I think the Cam Experiment is the single biggest mistake of the season. Now the Patriots are stuck in the worst possible outcome: Cam was good for just long enough to knock them out of a top 10 pick, but not good enough to be a medium-term (i.e., 3-5 years) solution.

I mentioned it a few times in my thread but your clips put a visual on it. I'm at work so only took a quick look but 1-3, 14 & 15 are perfect examples. His release point/launch point for short/intermediate passes, esp with touch, is around his eyes. He's 6'5 playing or throwing small on certain passes.

I actually remember now. It was this clip. Throwing Harry ER balls after almost losing his head in Seattle but this Rex pass stuck out as well.

Just no touch, no awareness on this play. Again he's one of the biggest guys on the field he shouldn't be throwing it into the eyes of DL'm.

I agree. The blunderous Newton decision, and lack of “Man up” by BB to admit he made another horrific decision..has been huge factor this season. Sham is worst QB to “start” here since Secules

His mechanics, timing, vision, athleticism and mental focus/decision making has been some of worst ever.....time to hang them up by 13 weeks ago would have been better to cut bait with this “experiment.....but BB is too stubborn and “proud “ to admit he made a mistake
