My fear is we pick in the top 10 and Belichick goes to draft a Wide Receiver - we already know his track record on drafting wide receivers in the early rounds which is like bust city - its clearly his worst trait thus far in an otherwise legendary coaching career

Drafting a WR top 10.

My real fear is that he lets the only 2-3 QB' that he has as a first round grade go right before him so he jumps out.

I wouldn't be too worried.

On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson or the second-best tackle in the draft in Kenyatta Walker, they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.

Trade down in the first round. Need a lot of picks to replenish this roster. Bringing a rookie quarterback into this mess isn’t a good idea.

Exception being if there’s a QB they absolutely love and don’t see as someone who comes along often.

Idk, I know wr is a big need but the few times we’ve drafted that high under BB he’s gone front 7. And I was screaming at the tv when we passed on David Terrell for Seymour.

Patriots have had 2 top 10 picks under BB and selected Seymour and Jerod Mayo. I'd rather they keep the pick.

this is different though,it appears in all likely hood that this team will be getting the highest 1st round draft pick they've had since 2 decades ago,and with that being the case its more than likely teams will be trying to persuade NE to trade the pick and double up in the later rounds - this team needs a first round stud to rebuild around more than ever, while a 1st round pick does not guarantee success, the trade down for value picks is no longer a desirable play as technically at least on paper the odds of hitting a jackpot go down the farther the pick is

From where I sit not benching newton looks like you are giving up.
I agree with you but if you think like BB that Cam is your best QB then no it’s not.

None of our QBs in our roster will be starting next year.
Justin Fields will be our next starting QB next year.

I’m excited about potentially landing a top tier qb next draft. Hopefully we land a top 3 pick.

At this point why would you not trade every assert before the deadline?
Because long term strategy should be a balanced approach and not a burn it down draft everything approach. If there are deals available that are not lopsided and especially for guys that will be FA anyway - take it. If it's totally lopsided in your favor like a Herchel Walker that too makes sense. But throwing all of your chips into draft and free agency without some semblance of core to carry over the system that helped build the original dynasty is foolhardy.

Do you honestly believe the detail oriented approach that this team has shown it takes year in and year out wouldn't do a full examination of assets based on skill, age, current cap, number of years left, etc and then also factor in their commitment to the system, leadership, and team oriented focus? Do you really believe they'd just "trade every asset" to come back next year with seventeen additional rookies to the high number already contributing to this years' poor showing without ANY leadership and guidance from veterans who have been here?

Not to mention the pure hypocrisy of a guy saying "trade em all" is also one who says BB cant draft...that too makes just SOOOO much sense.

If we’re in the top 10 I highly doubt we don’t grab a QB.

Our group last year was no better. No reason BB shouldn't have improved it before this season
And in 2018.

Gronk was fading fast and then Josh Gordon came available and bailed BB out for a few game before quitting. When the WR/TE group got worse in 2019 Brady saw the writing on the wall. Brady told Peter King that the situation was hopeless. BB still wants to continue bringing in cheap castaway JAGS at WR and make them players good enough to equal the best.

Cam is not that kind of QB that can turn chicken @hit into chicken salad.

Is bill tanking on purpose? The inside kick and vacating the linebackers from the middle of the field on josh Allen's run were very baffling to me

That would be the only reason.

Lawrence or Fields being in striking distance.
