My fear is we pick in the top 10 and Belichick goes to draft a Wide Receiver - we already know his track record on drafting wide receivers in the early rounds which is like bust city - its clearly his worst trait thus far in an otherwise legendary coaching career
Chad Jackson still brings me nightmaresDrafting a WR top 10.
NFL Comparison: N'keal Harry
My real fear is that he lets the only 2-3 QB' that he has as a first round grade go right before him so he jumps out.My fear is we pick in the top 10 and Belichick goes to draft a Wide Receiver - we already know his track record on drafting wide receivers in the early rounds which is like bust city - its clearly his worst trait thus far in an otherwise legendary coaching career

Idk, I know wr is a big need but the few times we’ve drafted that high under BB he’s gone front 7. And I was screaming at the tv when we passed on David Terrell for Seymour. My fear is we pick in the top 10 and Belichick goes to draft a Wide Receiver - we already know his track record on drafting wide receivers in the early rounds which is like bust city - its clearly his worst trait thus far in an otherwise legendary coaching career
Trade down in the first round. Need a lot of picks to replenish this roster. Bringing a rookie quarterback into this mess isn’t a good idea.
Exception being if there’s a QB they absolutely love and don’t see as someone who comes along often.
this is different though,it appears in all likely hood that this team will be getting the highest 1st round draft pick they've had since 2 decades ago,and with that being the case its more than likely teams will be trying to persuade NE to trade the pick and double up in the later rounds - this team needs a first round stud to rebuild around more than ever, while a 1st round pick does not guarantee success, the trade down for value picks is no longer a desirable play as technically at least on paper the odds of hitting a jackpot go down the farther the pick isPatriots have had 2 top 10 picks under BB and selected Seymour and Jerod Mayo. I'd rather they keep the pick.
I agree with you but if you think like BB that Cam is your best QB then no it’s not. From where I sit not benching newton looks like you are giving up.
Because long term strategy should be a balanced approach and not a burn it down draft everything approach. If there are deals available that are not lopsided and especially for guys that will be FA anyway - take it. If it's totally lopsided in your favor like a Herchel Walker that too makes sense. But throwing all of your chips into draft and free agency without some semblance of core to carry over the system that helped build the original dynasty is foolhardy. At this point why would you not trade every assert before the deadline?

And in 2018.Our group last year was no better. No reason BB shouldn't have improved it before this season
That would be the only reason.Trade down in the first round. Need a lot of picks to replenish this roster. Bringing a rookie quarterback into this mess isn’t a good idea.
