Yeah. The AFC is stacked this year.

I don't think anyone had the Bucs in the NFCCG this year, most had them in the playoffs as a WC. Most predicted the Saints to win the division but they have been struggling on defense and Brees looks a bit washed. It won't be a disappointment if the Bucs are not in the final conference game. It would be a disappointment if they missed the playoffs. Also, don't sleep on Carolina. They have won 3 in a row and look to be figuring things out.
Here are some of the posts from the first 10 pages of this thread, so yes, some people did have the Bucs penciled into the superbowl.

"I see them making the NFCCG minimum barring any injuries. Motivated TB and all the talent at his disposal along with a underrated defense much to like"
"He's taken bad teams and, as long as his QB's been at least decent, he's made those teams winners (flipped a 2-14 team to 11-5, flipped a 5-11 team to 10-6). He has a winning record as a head coach in Arizona. He's won COTY twice.
Seems like a fair amount of evidence."
"I guess some people in the world truly only see the glass half empty. They guy has proven to be a strong offensive mind and has a really good defensive coach as his DC, and both sides of the ball have talent."
"I see the 2020 Bucs struggling early and then putting the pieces together down the stretch.
Seattle is the biggest obstacle in the way to a Super Bowl.
I dont blame Brady for leaving and I hope that he gets his 7th ring."
"3 Reasons Buccaneers will win Super Bowl LV! (per @ryanwilsonCBS) 1. It obviously starts with Brady. 2. The Bucs have some of the best pass-catchers in the league. 3. This defense is a top-5 unit. Thoughts?"
"I don't know about you guys, but I want a TB vs SF NFCCG. I want Brady to show up Jimmy and make Shanahan and Lynch pay for passing on Brady."
"it sill certainly be harder but not out of the realm of possibility they win the division. Brady has never won a SB having to play on wild card weekend. and his conference is much harder than anything he’s had to face in the AFC."
"If they don't run into any ego/chemistry-related issues, they should be one of the three best teams in the NFC. SF and NO are really good as always, but the amount of talent on their offense is incredible. How many QBs have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Gronk, OJ Howard, and Cameron Brate to throw to? Not to mention Fournette, McCoy, and Ronald Jones as their RBs. Their line is questionable but it's not bad enough to tank their offense."
"Bucs 19-0 baby :haha:"

If you took the time to go back to the 1st 10 pages of a 144+ page thread to look for quotes to make a meaningless point, you either have to get a life or get laid, or both.

Tampa Bay Over-Under win total was 9.5 and they were considered somewhere between the 3rd to 5th favorite in the NFC prior to the season. That continues to be a reasonable placement. We all understand that odds are meant to spur betting and are not inherently predictions but if anything the Bucs were over not under hyped. Brady supporters certainly understand the desire for the Brady haters to set TB "expectations" as high as possible so they have more room to call the season a failure. The Buc won 59 games in the past decade and have not won a playoff game since the 2002 season. They do not carry the same expectations as the Pats.

And as with all football seasons, much depends on health and the Bucs have had a ton of injuries to key players. So that has to be considered as well. Most Pats fans, myself included believed the Pats last year could have been in the SB if the offensive line was not a mess. But that's football. The Bucs are in decent position to make the playoffs, potentially winning their division which has been weaker than predicted because the Saints have struggled. I agree about Tampa's expectations. A playoff berth would have them overjoyed. We'll see how far the season even gets with Covid.

Pats last year could have been in the SB if the officials had not stolen the Chiefs game.

That take isn't standing the test of time. TNF showed an ego issue and IMO an offensive line bad enough to tank their offense if they expect to do well in the playoffs. A lot of the listed players aren't proving to be durable, unfortunately.

In the absence of agreement on the general prospects, I feel the over/under line is as impartial a reference as we have.

TBO If Bucs had restored their original creamsicle uni's with Bucco Bruce I would be watching and rooting for them (except against us of course)

I've heard a lot of the same from national media analysts including from people from ESPN, Fox and Pro Football Talk.

If that's your take on Tom's tweet, you've got to be the most obtuse person on this board.
Oh it absolutely is a “look at me” tweet. Now to be fair there’s a chance it probably was his social media team and not him personally... but I think a simple “Congrats” tweet would have been sufficient instead of yuk yuk I’m such a goofball I screwed up the other night doh!

Why do you think he kills moose? Although he'd probably get the same satisfaction by killing mice.

Maybe division isn’t that strong... early but...

I think your posts are more of a "look at me" than any of Brady's.

Don’t even bother with him. It’s some 14 year old kid.

Sb1, I know you and I personally communicated with one another, and though we still slightly disagree on some of the finer details of the Brady saga, we at least came to a bit of an understanding of each other's views. However, you're making it difficult for me to not just shake my head at some of this. You say you have no problem with Brady and your issue is more with Bradyites (as you call them), but it's like you find a way to denigrate every single thing he does on or off the field. There's definitely a pattern with your posts that has become increasingly evident, IMHO. I really don't think I believe that you're as objective as you promote yourself to be sometimes.

The fact is Bron and Brady are actually friends. They've interacted numerous times in person and on social media. This was a congratulations at his own expense. He's not promoting any of his products, business or any other financially motivated venture, which is the main area where Brady has been self-seeking. He's never tried to garner attention just for the sake of it, as far as I know. It's always been about the TB12 brand when he's done it in the past. So, I fail to see how this playful jab at himself while congratulating a friend and a fellow brother in the fraternity of greats is somehow Brady saying "Look at me." Unless there's just something I'm not seeing, I think you're reaching yet again, and that's becoming more and more consistent with you regarding Brady. I had stopped calling you Rob Parker Jr., but it applies here. Of course, I say all this respectfully, as you are entitled to your (misguided) opinion.

It would only be a two way tie if LAC's kicker doesn't doink it off the goal post at the end of regulation.

Herbert has looked awesome for a rookie QB. Wow.

MMQB predicted the Bucs to win the superbowl. Apart from the rude comments that some here can't help but post when their own hypocrisy is exposed, there was much optimism in this thread from the beginning, as they have stumbled a bit and exposed some of their weaknesses, many of those same posters who initially had extremely high expectations for this team have begun backpedaling to try and protect Brady's reputation. Suddenly, that coach who was an offensive genius is an idiot who shouldn't be coaching a pop warner team. The ref's have it in for Brady, and Gronk is an anchor bringing him down.

I still think the Bucs have a very good chance of making the playoffs, think the 9.5 wins is probably a pretty accurate estimate and think it is a shame that Brady left the Pats.

I was only commenting on the tweet and like I said, it might not have even been him. All I'll say is it definitely looks to me like a tweet that oddly called attention to himself especially with the pic. Is it a playful jab at himself? What does that have to do with his friend winning a championship. I don't think anyone cares. Just seemed weird to me. I can agree to disagree if you have a different opinion.

My issue wasn't the Bradyites it's with the moronic Belichick bashing. Not because their angle is a football reason to bash him but only because they're sore that he's here and Brady isn't. This season to date (as has 2008) has already proven beyond any doubt Belichick is one of the greatest coaches even without Brady, and he didn't need Brady to be great. Not that anyone with any semblance of football intelligence didn't already know that.

Fans will be fans including Brady fans. The Pats game day thread is exhibit A. A day or so after a game everyone is in Superbowl expectation mode all week. Come game day as soon as there's a turnover or the other team scores suddenly Belichick or Mcdaniels blew it. Our defense sucks, this player or that player has to go etc., etc. Then a new week comes and its rinse, repeat. This has been going on for as long as I can remember here. Its not going to change. C'est la vie.
