Perhaps this is a matter they could touch upon during the next debate? They covered a lot of ground last night so I don’t see why the NFL’s mask mandate can’t be discussed in October.

Why specifically focus on coaches? I would guess to send a message to team leadership, to set a baseline from the top, to make sure everyone tightens the **** up before things cascade negatively across the league.

Youve already got Gruden looking at fines for 10 of his players interacting indoors and unmasked with general population, at an event held in violation of local guidelines. The NFL hadnt done a bubble because they felt the teams could reasonably handle themselves. Apparently not so, should be a surprise to no one.

it makes perfect sense. The players bear the brunt of the risk. Having the other people on the field wear masks ensures the coaching staffs etc have the least amount of potential exposure as possible. Teams can place players on the exempt list, add players from practice squad, can sign free agents etc to replace players who test positive... Can't do that with coaches... Cant do that with the majority of skilled staff members like medical...
