I'm not sayin' Tom Brady is old but...

Seems that the cool thing to do is talk sh** about Brady now that he's gone. Throw out the 20 years of blood, sweat, tears and records he broke, or the 9 titles we got to witness with him leading. Nah, the Patriot fan thing to do is blame him for the shi* sandwich that was our offense last year (post AB/injuries), and ridicule him post-40, when he was still a top 5 qb, after 2 decades of excellence. Weird how some people forego all of that on the drop of the hat, and almost enjoy him being gone. Instead of calling yourselves "true patriot" fans, maybe ungrateful and bitter are more appropriate right now. Nothing like ****ting on the GOAT qb, by virtually every metric, that spent 20 years of his precious life serving the new England area, or in other words, all of you/us.

As with any fan base, and on pretty much any forum, we've got some real ass hats here who think loyalty signaling via stupid posts about ex-players is a brilliant strategy.

I'm not saying Tom Brady is old, but... here are some of the events that occurred during the calendar year that included TB12's final season at Michigan, just prior to his being drafted by the Patriots:

  • The world was in a panic over the impending Y2K apocalypse
  • MySpace and Napster debuted on the internet
  • A new technology known as Bluetooth was introduced
  • The Melissa virus caused chaos with businesses
  • The Dow Jones closed at over 11,000 for the first time
  • Euro currency was introduced
  • Lance Armstrong won his first Tour de France
  • American Pie, Blair Witch Project and The Sixth Sense were released
  • As were The Matrix, The Spy Who Shagged Me and Star Wars Episode 1
  • Columbine happened
  • Boris Yeltsin resigned, replaced by some relatively unknown guy named Putin
  • Sponge Bob Square Pants premiered
  • Top played radio songs were Livin La Vida Voca by Ricky Martin and I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys
  • Dr Jack Kevorkian was found guilty of second degree murder
  • JFK Jr dies in a plane crash flying to Martha's Vineyard, with his wife and her sister
  • Ray Lewis had not yet killed a guy

I'm not saying Tom Brady is old, but he was teammates with Michael Bishop, Chris Floyd, Max Lane, Chris Slade, Chad Eaton, Robert Edwards, Vincent Brisby and Bruce Armstrong.
We had a few here who thought Michael Bishop would be better.

No one loved brady more than me. But that doesn’t mean I have to lie about how he played the second half of last year.
It means absolutely nothing to his legacy, but his legacy also doesn’t need people lying about how he played last year.

I unfollowed Brady in Instagram ... the passing workout video in buccaneer garb along with gronk was annoying

Nice to be different. Was it Brady or Belichick that brought on this love affair with Brady?
That will be debated for years to come. I’m not one that enjoys trying to figure that out. I just accept the last 20 years for what it was...the greatest run in modern sports history in the age of salary caps
