Jordan Reed still thinking about playing?

Jordan Reed, Sony Michel and Mo Sanu walk into a bar...

Jordan Reed slips backyards, Mo Sanu tries to catch him but slips through the hands...Sony tries to run over but his foot cramped up. Reed hits the floor and has a concussion. Mo gets on IG and promises it wont happen again...

Izod needed to opt out before he got injured.

he would have been cut anyways....guy sucked...have no idea why BB kept him hanging around....good riddance

Didn’t expect him to make the team regardless tbh. I think this is a decent little cap savings. With the sheer number of opt outs in NE compared to other teams I am left scratching my head a little bit. It seems clear Bill must be making it clear he values everyone’s safety or something.[/QUOTE]

Izzo has more upside, cheaper & is a better blocker.
I guess topic is which is worse .....a pile of chihuahua poop (izzo) or a pile of Clydesdale poop (Lacosse ).....doesn’t honestly matter ....they both are ****!!!!!

I wonder why bb was not in on the Sheehan trade?

especially with butterfingers/human fire hydrant opting out.

As mentioned in another thread, I heard Andrew Brandt's podcast (former Green Bay director of football operations) and his response to getting the money back was "good luck". Sure you can litigate but that costs the team thousands of dollars of legal fees and results in bupkis. He said in the past the team has given players advances etc and then cut them and they know they will not see that money ever again in most cases. He's said he's been pleasantly surprised in a few cases, but only a few.

Interesting and shocking to read this.

Ryan Izzo, come on down.

Looks like no David Njoku to NE either.

He is drinking the Cleveland koolaid.

Izzo is a good blocker. I’ll take him at TE 3.

That's why Izzo was inactive for every game after week 6 last year despite our issues with blocking through the season. Most probably that concussion took him out those remaining 11 (or 12) weeks, right ? Yet magically he didn't end up on IR. Weird.

I don't know where this narrative that he is a good blocker comes from because he hasn't shown that on gamedays yet. I guess it must have been an accident that LaCosse -- even fighting through multiple injuries and not standing out at all -- played over him for the rest of the year.

A healthy LaCosse could actually have a shot at being an adequate depth option while Asiasi (and Keene) get up to speed. Last year's version of Izzo shouldn't even be on the PS. I'd much rather have a big lineman like Fleming instead.

Didn't Izzo's poor blocking lead to the interception that hurt Josh Gordon's ankle and put the final nail in our season?

Might have, but that’s one isolated play. Didn’t Brady’s pick-6 against TEN in the playoffs seal the deal in ending our season?...Is he a poor thrower of the football? Didn’t BB’s decision to not play Butler in SB 52 most likely cause us a SB victory? Didn’t BB’s decision to not kick the field goal with 6:43 left in the 3rd quarter in SB 42 possibly cost us an additional 3 points which could have made the difference (at least tying the game)?...Don’t come without facts..

Izzo makes case to replace Gronk as starter

Don’t come without facts

The fact is that he was inactive for every game after week 6 even though LaCosse was very underwhelming and at times only moving on one leg while Watson was mostly toast. If he is a "good blocker" why wasn't he even game active despite the plethora of issues we had with run blocking ?

Bruh, all I said is he is a BETTER BLOCKER, cheaper & has more upside than Matt Lost Cause, which are all facts; get your panties out of a bunch... call BB & ask him since you’re so inquisitive..

This doesn't make much sense because unless those players are in a high risk group they will have to pay those 150k back next year. It is an advance and not new money.
Not sure how this will ever happen. First of all, the IRS doesn't look at an advance any differently than salary, i.e., it's subject to withholding and he's going to be paying taxes on that money this year. So figure that $150k is more like $100k in his pocket. So, after living off this $100k for close to a year, he's going to have to pay back $150k. Let's say he's back in school, or coaching somewhere. How's he going to pay that money back? How bad will the Patriots look, dunning this kid for their $150k?

We only signed him in the first place because Belichick thought his name was .....

How does any regular person ever pay off a loan ?

Why would the team look bad for doing exactly what was agreed upon with the NFLPA ?

There was an agreement between the league and the union about that 150k advance and I don't see why any team (or the league) should be upset about players opting out the same way that I don't see why anyone should be frustrated when that advance is collected back next year.

It is business.. for both sides.

Lacosse has opted out every year he's been in the league
