Michel, Sanu, and King on PUP

How do you pass on Nick Chubb and draft Sony? Its a mystery.

The Browns have Chubb the absolute Beast Nick Chubb Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com and Monster Kareem Hunt. Hunt is lucky to get 10 - 15 touches a game in Cleveland. Too bad that Cleveland wont deal Hunt. In one fell swoop Hunt would cure NEs passing options and rushing ills.

Sigh... this thread is going to become a Sanu/Michel bashfest.

Guys that needed foot and ankle surgery in the off season didn't run well in the second half of last season. So they suck, were bad draft choices, were bad trades, etc. Now that the Pats are being cautious and placing them on PUP theré is a new round of the same stuff. I agree. YAWN!!!

Sounds like Sanu really is way ahead of schedule and will be ready.

Face the music.

NE is the worst team in the NFL at drafting WRs and RBs. Maroney, Chad Jackson, Malcom Mitchell. Mitchell could not stay on the field. Bethel Johnson couldn't spell CAT.

Harry was hurt last season. Sony is hurt again this season. Never ends.

I get why they drafted him. They saw the problem with one dimensional backs getting taken out in big games. Michel was supposed to be what Josh Jacobs was with the Raiders last year or Kamara is which he was compared to coming out of the draft. Ironically, Sony is as one dimensional as they come but McDaniels has taken blame for that. He says he’ll try to change that this year.

Chubb, on the hand, is already in the conversation as one of the best backs in the league.

Sanu is one of the worst trades this team has made in a long time haha, he did nothing for us last year and then Update: starts season on PUP in year 2

Huge waste of a 2nd round pick so far, almost as big of a waste as spending it on Jordan Richards

I’ll give him one more year until putting him into the same class as Duane Starks.

Amazing how Chandler Jones and Jimmy G were both traded for a 2nd, yet the Pats gave up a 2nd for Starks and Sanu.

Chandler Jones for only a 2nd was inexcusable.

and then opts out his 2nd year.
He didn’t opt out.

Chubb had 278 receiving yards and a 75% catch rate last season while splitting touches with Kareem Hunt for half the season.

Another one of Billy's blunders.

Complaining that Sanu was underwhelming after suffering an injury that required surgery is like whining that Brady did nothing for us in 2008.

Also it is wrong that he is starting the season on PUP. All indications are that he will be ready for week 1 which means he worked his ass off to be ahead of schedule.

You know there is a difference between starting camp on PUP and the season on PUP, right ?

Billy's Blunders :WR and RB's edition:

Bethel Johnson over Boldin was brutal.

Jackson over Jennings was worse. Like Boldin, Jennings would've been a great combo with Brady. DeAngelo Willams should've been picked over Maroney. Many teams got scared off by his high mileage in college.

Brandon Tate was awful. Mike Wallace goes one pick later.

Taylor Price over Navarro Bowman was painful. I really wanted Bowman. Spikes was drafted waaaaay too high, but I did like him as a player. He would've fit in perfectly with the early 2000 Pats running a 3-4.

Aaron Dropson over Keenan Allen was 2006 all over again. Allen was an obvious choice but teams were scared off by his speed.

Although Mitchell only played a year, he really made it count. At least he could look back and say he was a big reason they came back and won. Only pick I'm not bitter about.

I have hope for Harry as some players above such as Boldin, Jennings and Allen all were criticized for not having enough speed to make it in the NFL.

It's remarkable that you aren't an NFL GM.

Amazing the amount of veiled or obvious vitriol regarding BB and his draft prowess.. here is the first hint every team has hits and misses in the draft. It that age old diagnosis of Pats Myopia..

Consider the Cleveland Browns who in the last 10 years have had these picks in the 1st round: 21, 3, 6, 8, 12, 15, 1, 1, 46, 10 with those choice picks one might think they are minimally perennial conference champs.

Despite BB's ineptitude the Pats have done "slightly" better than average.. the reality is the draft is a gamble, no one knows how many of the college guys will perform when they hit the bright lights.

Michel, Sanu and King are on the PUP list, probably because of recovery issues related to off season surgeries or other issues, but judgement should be reserved until the season starts, if it does start (which I doubt)...

You think after only a few examples? Wow, thanks.

More like most of these picks were undeniably stupid and you didn't need to be a genius to figure that out. Let's see how Billy does now with his security blanket gone to cover up his blunders.

I can't understand how he still has a job in the NFL.
Had he not scored Brady, he'd be going back to being a coordinator within 2 years.

And his blunders were the reason they had their 10 year drought winning a Super Bowl. He's very lucky Brady not only put up with it for that long, but was able to keep playing to finally get that "Spy Gate" monkey off their back.

How come you haven't been in contact with Mr Kraft??
