Tampa is a third rate city and the Bucs are a third rate organization. My wife worked for them as an intern years ago and they were a clown show.

Reading this thread shows the unprecedented level of derangement coming our way. Wow--I didn't think Patriots fans could be as bad as all the pathetic loser fans of teams the Patriots regularly vanquished the last 20 years.

It's a tricky balance... I mean, it's GOT to be no fun to be under the level of pressure he had in NE, where winning an AFCCG is a meh year, LOSING an AFCCG is a down year, and losing a divisional round game feels like a "wasted year" that has fans (and management) looking for ways to "get back up again." Your weapons are subject to the pressures of being part of an aging star (the dynasty) past the end of its helium cycle, with every news story speculating whether we're in the carbon, oxygen, neon, or silicon fusion cycles... or whether in fact we've finally reached iron.

First year in Tampa is all easily met expectations, high upside weapons, and sweet light hydrogen. Yeah they want a ring, but you don't think they love Brady if he GETS them to the dance this year? Of course they do.

Of course football's fun again. In NE, we know him and were trying to figure out how to stay somewhere like the same level despite his unavoidable aging out. In Tampa, the last couple years of Tom Brady is more than they could ever ask... they woke up the morning of this deal like the kid getting that BB gun in "A Christmas Story."

Bruce Arians is a 9-5 type of guy, while Bill Belichick is 6 AM- midnight... I think fun can win you a super bowl (see pete carroll or doug pederson) but not a dynasty. The only other HC in the past 20 years that has won multiple super bowls is Tom Coughlin, and he wasn't exactly a fun type...

The level of QB play in this league.

An amalgamation of Favre, Brady, Manning would go nowhere with Marshall Newhouse and Ted Karras protecting them, while throwing to Phil Dorsett, broken ribbed Edelman, high ankle sprain Sanu. Not happening.

6 months before Brady's dreadful throwing the ball away (or whatever you want to call it) he was lighting up the NFL in the playoffs.

When you lose OL protection and your receivers, you look like crud. Every QB looks the same in that situation.

I don't disagree with everything you said, BUT I am confused about your comments about how fans have reacted to the OP.

Brady is NEVER going to say anything directly about NE and BB other than it was a great run and how he loves everyone here. It was pretty clear, at least to me that there was a LOT of inference by the media in creating a narrative that he's finally "happy" to play football again. Maybe less inference and more creative license.. But so what. That's their job I guess.

I see Brady still having a very good year in TB. Except for the OL he has a LOT of offensive weapons down there, and a good offensive coach. He will do fine. But the fact is his skills are still going to continue to erode and this will turn into a classic example of moving on from a player a year too soon, rather than a year too late. I will root for him every game he plays until he possibly plays against the Pats in 2021.

Sure, but Brady himself wasn’t very good either. It can be all of the above.

I think he will have a good season in TB if there is a season. But that does not mean this team turned a certain Super Bowl contender into a top 5 in the draft caliber team by letting him walk. That is not the case.

There are many comments of this ilk: "Watching Throw Away Tom pout all season made for an unenjoyable experience as a fan last year... We could all see his misery, and it was such a downer.
I think Cam will make our season fun, as long as he is healthy."

Assuming there is a season...

At this point it looks like Tom Brady is going to spend the season hanging out with Gronk and throwing to one of the most load receiving cores in NFL history while defenses are decimated by COVID. And if someone comes down with a little cough, Antonio Brown is living down the street and can easily "unretire".

Fun doesn't begin to describe what TB is going to have. 70TDs?

What's the fuss. Even though this isn't even a direct quote from Brady, it's reported as being made in the context of Gronk's return.

I ask you, isn't everything "fun" with Gronk around?
I mean, even getting a Root Canal would be fun if you knew Gronk was driving you home.

Absolutely.

Not only did Newhouse perform better at RT than he did at LT last season, but he also performed better at RT than Cannon himself did last season.

Is Brady going to be the last man standing when everybody else opts out?
