It will likely depend on who wins it and how. If you have a Nick Foles scenario play out where a star QB gets Covid and then his back up takes the team to the Super Bowl I think most people would be ready to call the season a wash and move on to next year. If by say November we're essentially watching the XFL with replacement players and UDFAs on the field then not only will there be an asterisk by this year, the NFL should really just call the season off at that point to prevent anymore infections or harm.
If teams can stay relativity health and we have a truly competitive season and somebody wins with no funny business it may seem more legitimate? The problem is the likelihood of that happening is pretty low without an NBA like bubble approach which may or may not work itself. I'd imagine that the owners really don't care and there is simply too much money to lose by not playing, but it is more likely that the season will end in failure and high human misery than not at this point.
